<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Florida Today - The Magic held Grant Hill out of a third consecutive preseason game Saturday for no other reason than to guard against injury in a meaningless preseason game.

Hill played well this preseason and continues to stress that he is injury free. He played in the first three preseason games, averaging 11.3 points on 50 percent shooting.

But the decision was made by the Magic brass to play it safe because of Hill's long history of injuries. Coach Brian Hill said he changed his mind Saturday morning and decided to hold out Hill.

"If it was up to me, you know I'd be playing," Hill said. "I feel good. But I've felt good before. Maybe I'm smarter now, and by not playing a couple of the preseason games we're looking at the big picture."</div>

Good. We need to just start Bogans or Ariza at SG and let Hill be the first man off the bench in the wing positions. Play him 20 mins max, no matter how good he is doing. He could be 10-10 from the floor, but we need to just bench him to sustain him for the duration of the season.

I agree, even if someone told me he could average 20 a game while starting I still wouldn't do it. No telling how long he would be able to sustain it.

Off the bench for him is perfectly fine: instant offense, defense, play making, and leadership coming off the bench is invaluable.

I'd rather have a Hill that can bring us 10 ppg over the duration of the season than a Hill that can give us 20 ppg half the season.

I'm not even worried about the points to be honest with you. We have our guys that can score. Dwight is showing he can score and we already know that Jameer and Hedo are capable of big nights. I just want him to pile up the statsheet and give us veteran leadership. Get a bunch of assists/rebounds and timely baskets while helping out the younger guys when they need a boost.

Could you imagne a second unit or Arroyo, Hill, Ariza, Outlaw and Battie. That would be a nice unit to bring offense and defense. We need Hill for the entire season in order to make the playoffs and have a good chance at a higher seed. I think if we played him it would be just with the starting unit for 5-7 mins at the start of the game. Just so he can get his feet wet, other than that he shouldnt be in against any 2nd units.

I was just using the points as an example......[IMG]

Well, Grant Hill needs to avg. a consistent 15pts for us. I really like Hill's defense and would like to see him coming off the bench for the Magic just in case Turkoglu becomes inconsistent.
