I think we can all agree that the Magic are better than both of these teams. Just some fightin' words.

But the Magic better than both these teams? HA! Pardon me if I scoff at the idea that your biggest offseason acquisition (for a team that finished 36-46, albeit the C's were 33-49) was JJ Redick. Who not only is not NBA caliber, but he's not even healthy for God's sake, and he won't be, for some time. That back problem is what did the likes of Larry Bird in, and for JJ Redick to be dealing with it before he even gets to the NBA, he's in trouble. Beyond that, the bench is awful, and role players are not what a team this sparse in athleticism needs. As for the Raps, I was basing my previous allegations on their excitement level on the idea that they don't win, and they're from Canada, two huge detractors when dealing with professional sports. No one will hear from them all season, because Americans couldn't care less about what a Canadian team is doing. I'm not one of those Americans, but there are plenty enough of them so that we won't see them on SportsCenter until Fred Jones misses a dunk and hurts himself. As for dunking, Fred Jones included, there isn't anyone on that team that trumps Gerald Green or Tony Allen's respective abilities to throw down. And with a SuperStar like Paul Pierce and a consistently up and coming youth movement (which obviously doesn't have too much to say for itself yet), I think we're looking at some good moments this season.

I'd even go so far as to to say that the Magic will get 1 1/2 to 2x more wins than both teams individually.

The Magic aren't improving this season beyond the individual contributions of a few players. And I don't know if you know this, but with the players they have, modest improvement won't be helping them into any playoff spots. If you want into this bet, barring any Raps fan's difference of opinion, I say you're in, and whichever team comes out ahead can have the sigs of those that lose. You're on.

How did the discussion about Telfair making a statement that was premature turn into the Orlando Magic having a better record than the Celtics or Raptors? Oh god, haha too funny
I think they can do it. Gerald Green is on a come up. He's sik. Telfair startin 2 prove himself in the league. I cud see him for like 15pph, 7.5apg. Plus they got Pierce, that's usually a safe bet
LOL I don't mind the Magic fans joining this bet, but I agree that the Magic will have a better record then BOTH the Raptors and the Celtics. Therefore, if the Magic do come out ahead in terms of record, the Magic fans can change the sigs of the Celtics fans cause I'm not against the Magic. It's only the Celtics that will get spanked in this bet.
I think we need to make this another thread altogether. I'm gonna make this a season long thing devoted the what we're talking about here. I'll lay down some ground rules and see what you guys think.
So here is our ongoing litany of insults and updates. I think we should stick to making this a Raps/C's thing, splitting three ways is too complicated. And besides, we all know who the clear winner will be, that being, of course, us, the Celtics fans. That said, the rules are: At the end of the year, the team with the most wins is the winning team. The fans of the winning team (only those who are in on the bet) get to modify the signatures of the fans of the other team (again, only those in on the bet), the bettors can claim signatures as we go along. I have Junoon's and he has mine, but other than that, everything is fair game.
<div class="quote_poster">Squishface Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Oh word, you're up to your neck in it now. Trouble's a knockin'. Wowzers.</div> I haven't heard Wowzers since I watched Inspector Gadget as a kid lol. <div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Dwight & Darko are a flea-market version of Bosh & Bargnani.</div> lol!!!! This thread is awesome, I didn't even know about it until today. I think both teams seem to have quite a bit of potential. Rondo, Telfair, Delonte West, Gerald Green, Jefferson, Perkins. That is a lot of young talent. Add in Pierce and Wally S or Wally Z and its quite a talented bunch. Ford, Calderon, Tucker, Bosh, Bargnani. With older players like Mo Pete, Garbajosa, Rasho, Anthony Parker, Fred Jones. I definitely think there is more offensive talent on the Celtics team, its just a matter of which team can pull out more wins. Neither team's coach is considered very good. I don't know which team will do better, but considering the stakes and the fact I only watch Raps games I'll have to go with Raps lol. I don't think I'll sign, just because I'll probably forget because its too far in the future (and there is a deficit of Celtics fans compared to Raptors fans on JBB)
I agree about keeping this strictly an Atlantic thing. This division needs a hell of a lot more excitement, anyways. Plus, Magic fans are annoying.
This is funny as hell. I think the Raps will do better just cause Pierce doesn't have as much help as Bosh, but I'm not in this bet. The Nets would do 20 times better than the Magic, Raps, and Celtics combined.

I obviously don't think the C's are going to outlast the Nets, but it wasn't that long ago that they were, and they're about two rookies being real professionals away from bettering the Nets again soon. Hold your tongue.

I watched an episode of Robot Chicken the other day with Inspector Gadget, and I almost shat myself. As for for the bet, sign on anyway, we'll keep you updated, and although there is a deficit, it's still fun, and we can all laugh at eachother when we're through.
