Actually, the Knicks just beat the Heat IN MIAMI with a blowout. Either the Heat REALLY suck this year (that's thier second blowout loss at home) or the Knicks are getting better. Meanwhile, the Raptors still suck. Jesus.
<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Last night might've been a loss, but the Raps showed signs of improvement (despite the coaching).</div> Improvement is all anyone can ask for of either of these two teams, especially with the way they've played in the early going. I think if the C's can win three in a row as soon as mid-November, as opposed to last season when they didn't win three in a row all year, that would be a huge feat. For the Raps to going into December, or even the new year, hovering around .500 would be massive for them too, especially with their start last season. If things keep going this way, either team is in for a huge disappointment, but with even a little improvement from these squads, we'll be talking about them all off-season.

It's sad but true, the team is coming along quite nicely and all you can ask for is some improvement along the way. Though in the meantime it doesnt hurt to see players applying themselves, and playing with some fire and determination
I think the best thing about this most recent game is that they actually looked like a team. Like they played together instead of just watching Pierce try to win the game. After a ten point first off, Pierce came on strong, sure, but everyone else did what they had to do too. Gomes with 20+, Telfair with a healthy chunk in there too, and Wally being Wally, they looked good as respective units, instead of just one or two good spurts from one or two good players.
Exactly, you said it perfectly "they looked like a team". They are coming along, slowly but surely. We all know Pierce is a great player but I love to see the other guys all play well, so its not all up to Pierce every night. It took a while but I am really starting to like Wally and all the good things he does, he just makes smart plays. As hard as it is for me to say (once being the biggest ricky d fan alive) the trade sure does look good now, for the Celts.
I gotta say, this bet is looking better all the time. I know it's early, and I know our momentum won't last long, but three in a row surely does make me feel a lot better than six in a row (the Raps streak right now), and I actually think there is one coach in the league worse than Doc.
I like the Celtics actually. I mean Paul Pierce doesn't have to actually do all the work on the offensive side this time. Wally is a good contributor, Ryan Gomes is doing well, Sebastian Telfair can do his thing, and other young guys are stepping up.
Honestly by the end of this season, I will be so emotionally-drained from watching Sam Mitchell coach the entire year that wearing an insulting sig will have no effect on me whatsoever. Either that, or I'll die of a heart attack by the trade deadline. I can't remember the last time I've seen a team that could organize a better halfcourt set by themselves, than if they had their head coach's help.

But it feels so much better to see them actually start to pull it together, we know they have potential, its about time they all stepped up and showed it.

Can't get better than that. GO RAPTORS!!
I'm a little bit concerned now...if Colangelo doesn't make a move before deadline can I switch to the Celtics?
<div class="quote_poster">Karma Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">It's hilarious that the "streaks" we're discussing are both losing streaks. Can't get better than that. As for switching teams, as was previously mentioned, I don't think we're allowed to jump ship at the trade deadline, but we'll talk all-star break and see how everyone feels.
<div class="quote_poster">Karma Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> My bad, I assumed the Celtics were losing too. But squish is right, these talks of losing streaks will occur quite often with these two teams, unfortunately.
The C's are 5-8 after knocking off the Bucks, and the Raps are 4-9, as of this morning, 11/27. Both teams are still knocking on the door of the division lead, and in actuality, the C's are tied for it. This has got to be the worst start this division has ever seen.
lol, the Raptors are still ahead of the Celtics in the ESPN power rankings. Not that means anything. This division truly has been an embarrassment. The only thing to look forward to now, is the upcoming game between Toronto and Boston. btw, somebody was mentioning jumping ship? I think Sam Mitchell as head coach is the equivalent of playing the game with 4 players, but I'll still wear a sig if Toronto turns out worse. At least the Raps have shown some potential their last 4 games.
