<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pistons starting center Nazr Mohammad is days away from completing his fast for Ramadan. He began fasting on Sept. 24 and will finish on Oct. 24. As per Islamic law, Muhammad has not consumed any food or drink (including water) during daylight hours. He can eat small meals before and after sundown. Muhammad played well, nevertheless. Coming into Sunday, he was averaging 13.8 points and 5.3 rebounds over 27 minutes. He had 16 points and 12 rebounds. "I don't think I've lost any weight, I feel fine," Muhammad said.</div> Source
How wise is this really? I have no idea how it works, but I can't imagine how it can be good for a player, especially in training camp.
It can't be good but It's his way of life and something he believes him so more power to him. I personally think fasting is the weirdest most un-natural thing in the world but different people have different beliefs so you have to respect that. funny enough Nazr has been playing very well in pre-season from the looks.
My friend whos on my basketball team was fasting, and it was hard cuz he couldnt drink water at practice or anything, until Sunset, so hed bring food to practice and wait till the sunset and eat during practice.
