<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Seven Suns players started at least one game this preseason, and center Amar? Stoudemire was the third man off the bench Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers. He struggled offensively, scoring just one point and had a shot blocked by Ronny Turiaf. With Stoudemire perhaps frustrated that he is not as far along as he expected in his recovery from knee surgery, D'Antoni's message before Monday's game was to not get discouraged with himself or teammates who are having a difficult time adjusting to playing with him. "You're not up for a contract for another five years," D'Antoni said he told Stoudemire. "You have time." Stoudemire was more active Monday (13 points, five rebounds, five fouls), a positive sign in a back-to-back set, but still lacks the aggression that Suns fans remember. One fan yelled at Stoudemire to get off the court if he was going to play scared after he repeatedly pivoted while in the post and was called for a three-second lane violation. D'Antoni made sure to get Stoudemire more playing time with the starters Monday, because his comeback is trying enough without having a reserve unit that is also new and trying to find its way. "Basketball wise, he's still about halfway there," D'Antoni said. "He's got a lot of rust."</div> Source I know it's just one jackass taunting Amare, but do you think the support will fade if Amare continues to struggle and play passively? So far this offseason he's been criticized by D'Antoni, the organization, and now a fan(s).
If he can't play the way the organization needs him to, he deserves to be taunted. He's a talented player, and a consummate young pro, but he's got some growing up to do, and fast. If he doesn't he's going to see more and more fans heckling his frightened play (although not many fans know enough about the game to tell what's frightened and what's not). He pretty much deserves what he gets if he's going to let this kind of injury get to him this much. Yes, it's serious, but it's not serious enough to have to take up shooting threes and not getting dirty in the paint.
Damn, I understand he was gone all last year and that was a big loss, but at least get him some gametime experience to get his confidence back. If it's 20 games into the season and he's still struggling that's one thing. But he hasn't played in real games back to back for a LONG time. And the fan is stupid - Amare is their team's biggest financial investment it would be wise to give him a chance to get back to form.
Who knows how much he can regain of his old form, its not a quick process, if he is rushed he'll probably just re-aggravate it and just have to spend more time getting everything back to normal. He should just take it day by day trying to continue to strengthen it little by little.

Nobody in the league deserves that and does Chris Webber come into mind. 5-6 years ago when we would argue about the top PF Chris Webbers name would be in the top 5 without hesitation. But he had the same injury and everybody (but sixer fans) forgot he was in Philidelphia. This injury is "serious enough".

I know every team will want their guy to be back to full strength, but jeopardizing a players future health for him to give useless production now due to injury doesn't help a team now or in the future. Many fans don't seem to understand this, people have become so impatient in everything in life, they even expect instant healing, he didn't get touched by Jesus, he had surgery.
You guys are absoltely right, I can't believe I actually wrote that. He's a young player with years to spare, and injuring him further unnecessarily is pretty darn silly.
With that type of injury dont expect him to regain his explosiveness. First of all because he doesnt have it anymore and if he does and gets injure again he will just be in rehab for the rest of his carreer. He needs to improve his game in other ways. With post up moves and mid-range shots.
Yeah, I feel for him. Everyone is all over him to regain his explosiveness but he just doesn't have it anymore. Knee injuries are pretty serious.
the best thing that happen to carl malone is when he lost his kness. his game became complete. Amare is still a strong young guy now this is his time to show that hes willing to become a true student of the game. I wish the best for Amare. GL Suns
