Couple of intresting Notes: DeAngelo Williams came in at 5-8 208.. He was listed at Memphis 5-10 217. Jay Cutler came in 6-2 instead of 6-4. Max Jean-Giles came in out of shape at 350 and Lutui of USC was in shape and not as big as thought. He was 338. Couple of other suprises were Abdul Hodge (BA's boy) who listed at 6-2 was only 5-11. Elvis Dumervil was 5-11 as well. As figured this happened. It always does but I think DeAngelo Williams was hurt the most.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (porky88)</div><div class='quotemain'>Abdul Hodge (BA's boy) who listed at 6-2 was only 5-11.</div> Zach Thomas is only allegedly 5'10" Darren Sproles is 5'7" or so they say. Bottom line; Height is just another statistic.
On the NFL Network they are showing all the practices. There is a lot of talent playing in the Senior Bowl
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (J-E-T-S 1083)</div><div class='quotemain'>it may be just a stat but when coaches look in the draft they definatly look at everything</div> Yeah you hit that right on. The lack of height is going to hurt Hodge. I never had him as a first round pick anyways. He'll probably go in the 2nd round. Sproles went in the later rounds. Where I do agree the height of a player doesn't matter all the time on some spot it does. Like QB for instance. Darrell Hackney is only 5-11 as well. I guess Nick Saban and uhm err Ryan Mueller (I think that's his name) were there watching. Not sure who they were intrested in but you better believe the name Jay Cutler is got to be a rumored one.

well also i dont think height matters too much if you can make up for it with Speed (Steve Smith 5-9) or Power (Bettis 5-10) or Overall Great Play (LT 5-10)...
Well it depends what postition. I know I wouldn't want a 5-10 QB who can barley get the ball over his o-lines head. Most colleges and High Schools list guys bigger than what they really are.
thats true...i dont see why except for blow up value...as in...in your face...bloated stats make the colleges look like liars...or suckers for drafties...
QB, WR, CB, Safeties, TEs.....the height does matter....QBs need to see over the lineman, WRs need to be able to gt to high throws, CBs and Safeties need to be able to play those same balls, and tall TEs create mismatches with LBs....i prefer a RB who is under 6 feet though....I think 5-10, 220lbs with a compact build is ideal....

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cowher&Frown Co.)</div><div class='quotemain'>once again i agree but lack of such can be made up with other skills...</div> can be made up? yes....but you dont draft a guy with physical short comings high.....wanna know why the league is full of productive players that got drafted low or not at all? they have physical shortcomings....the Steve Smith's of the world will always go late and be required to prove themselves on special teams or practice sqauds before they get to play full time....
I guess Miami was looking at Charlie Whitehurst of Clemson. They were scouting him and talking with him a lot. With Jay Cutler likely falling into the top 10 I could see Miami going Whitehurst or even Brodie Croyle in rounds 2 or 3. Right now both are either 2nd or 3rd round picks.
I read the Dolphins spent a lot of time with all 6 QBs....Croyle does have some link to the Dolphins because Mike Shula was his coach at 'Bama....Being a Clemson fan, I know Whitehurst well, and he has physical skills, but hes a few year away from being ready to play at this level....I just gotta hope that one of the top3 guys falls to 16, they trade up, or Croyle is around in the 2nd....
