<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SEATTLE - Seattle SuperSonics General Manager Rick Sund announced today that the Sonics have requested waivers on guards Denham Brown and Milt Palacio.
Brown was selected by the Sonics in the second round (40th overall pick) of the 2006 NBA Draft. In two preseason games, he totaled eight points and five rebounds. Palacio, originally signed by the Sonics as a free agent on Sep. 29, recorded five points and three assists in four preseason games.

The Sonics roster now stands at 15. </div>

Surprising considering they could have waived Desmon Farmer and Mike Wilks. I know that Wilks had an advantage because he was with the team last year but given Palacio size and versatility I thought that he was a shoe in to make the roster. Coming in to camp out of shape certainly didn't help him.

I am shocked that Farmer is still on this roster. And as much as I like Mike Wilks, there has to be a better third string point guard available for the minimum. Denham Brown has ability but I think his passive attitude/personality may have held him back. Also I think that they want some veteran depth behind Ray--someone who can help Gelabale down the road as well.

Again, this does come as a surprise to me but ultimately I do not think that Wilks, Rush (who has been given too much respect in this process), or Farmer will have a big impact on the success of this team if they are able to make the team. I believe that the best option out of those three would be Mike Wilks. Good locker room guy, knows the system, competes hard, and is needed the most. A healthy Kareem Rush wouldn't be able to put up Ray Allen type numbers in the event that Ray went down. That is just wishful thinking.

It's hard to replace a Ray Allen, but keeping Kareem Rush would probably be a good thing. If anything, as you all know, his experience is the reason why he's still on the roster. He's practiced the least amount out of all of the camp invitees we had, but Bob Hill must like what Rush brings to the table. It's nice to have a capable shooter just in case.

I personally want Mike Wilks to make the team. His quickness makes up for his lack of size. Plus, as Shiek said, the rest of the team seems to like his character.

If we keep 14, it's Rush and Wilks. 13...then I think Hill goes with Rush, unless his injury keeps holding him back.

Mike Wilks is the best player named Mike Wilks in the NBA. Don't hate, just recognize the realness.

Mike Jones is a better rapper....and he may surprise a couple people at Maryland, too.

And that other guy.....I thought you guys don't like shoot first point guards?
