http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/boxscore;_ylt=...?gid=2006102625 Went into OT. Ike was 25 and 8 rebs. Ellis scored well but 7 turnovers to his 5 assists. Not bad playing with just rookies against Seattle's starters.

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I ever saw a non-point-guard with 8 turnovers, that's really horrible. IIRC, he did tire towards the end and had a little string of turnovers there from that. Fortunately he made up for it with great shooting from the field and the line, and 8 rebounds is not spectacular but respectable. Biedrins really impressed me, I have a feeling that this guy could someday lead the league in rebounding if he ever starts, especially with the number of shots that are going to be put up on both ends with this running Warriors team. He'll certainly be up there in reb/48. He has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass and he's quicker than a lot of guys who will be guarding him. I was also encouraged by Monta's night of good shooting, although I'm still convinced he'd make a better shooting guard than point guard. Well they lost, but considering none of their starters (if you count Pietrus) started, and considering some ugly numbers: Rebounds: SEA 30, GS 20 Turnovers: GS 24, SEA 11 Steals: SEA 12, GS 3 I think they did rather well for themselves to even be in the game at the end. Anyone care to guess what the starting lineup will be on opening day? I don't know what the status of all the injured are, but it sounds doubtful to me that JRich will be quite ready. I'm going to say: C Biedrins PF Dun SF Pietrus SG Wagner PG Baron
I didn't get to see it, but GS had all 5 starters sitting out, while Seattle played Allen, Lewis, Wilcox, Ridenour, etc, and GS still takes them to overtime. Look at POB with 11 boards, and Beans with 10 boards and 3 blocks. You know they're making Nellie think a little about that 5 spot...

It looks like we may have a two headed monster at C in the future with POB, who has some post moves, a nice jumpshot, hits FTs, passing skills (apparently), but can also block shots and has decent athleticism and Biedrins has the athleticism, energy, better shotblocker and rebounder, a better defender right now as well. POB sounds like he could be a Nellie center in a few years because of his jumpshot and SKYHOOK, he just needs to get more time to learn how to hit the glass, defend, and bulk up.
Ike was dragging. He had 4 turnovers in the 4th in a span of abour 3 minutes, but Nelson left him in. I think he's trying to show him what it means to play big minutes in a run-n-gun offense. This should me a motivator to push himself to get into shape.
Too bad we did not go 7-0 to start the season, but it is comforting to know our scrubs took their starters to OT... Nice numbers from Ike and Monta. Ike almost had a triple double...
Dang, Diogu had more turnovers than FG's attempted. However he scored 25 points on 7 FG attempted. That is a crazy stat. That is more than 3 points per FG. Crazy. It looks like the team played well. They shot a good percentage from the field. I think Ridnour would be a fun PG to watch if he were playing with Don Nelson. He has good handles and pretty good athleticism and a decent shot. It's good to see the bigs produce. I still don't know what's going to happen with Barnes and Roberson. Both are still producing. Zarko has probably been the least productive players this preseason who has actually been healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if he is let go to keep Barnes and Roberson. But then again I wouldn't bet on it, because I have no idea what is going to happen.
8 turnovers is embarrasing, how do you even turn the ball over 8 times when you aren't handling the ball as a pg would?
He could be grabbing boards and pushing it down the court and just throwing bad passes in transitions
<div class="quote_poster">AnimeFANatic Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Diogu had a 0-8 AST-TO game</div> the stats page wasn't udpated so I saw that he had 0 TO's. Damn... 26 to 13 turnovers. WTF?? Damned rookies!

Sometimes a perfect preseason can mislead the team into believing they are better than they really are.
<div class="quote_poster">Warriorsfan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">maybe diogu fumbled a lot =/ i thought he had great hands</div> No, I don't think that's the case. Foyle would drop the ball, but he doesn't get the turnover, the point guard does because Foyle wasn't in posession of it long enough. I think maybe Diogu mishandled in the post and got doubled so he lost the handle or maybe he didn't understand the plays and threw the ball out of bounds where he thought a teammate would be or was going to be. Diogu does have trouble with quicker plays.
