    CUT!
    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
HOUSTON (Ticker) - The Houston Rockets on Friday waived veterans Ryan Bowen and Casey Jacobsen, which means rookie forward Steve Novak has made the team.

By cutting loose Bowen and Jacobsen, the Rockets reduced their roster to 15 players. Among those players is Novak, a 6-10 forward from Marquette who was taken in the second round.

In the preseason, Novak averaged 12.1 points in seven preseason games and shot very well. He shot 53 percent from the field, nearly 48 percent from 3-point range and better than 90 percent from the line.

The 6-9 Bowen has averaged 2.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 434 games over seven seasons with Denver and Houston.

The 6-6 Jacobsen has averaged 5.9 points and 1.9 rebounds in 234 games with Phoenix and New Orleans. He played in Europe last season and signed with the Rockets in September.

    Saw this coming.

I think it was the right choice to cut them both.

    I agree with the decision.

Might as well. We can't take the salary off the cap space.

    Forget Sura/Jacobsen.

    YEAH! Ryan Bowen = CUT!!!

    JVG can't overplay him anymore!

Edit: So was he really injured during preseason or did JVG know he was going to be cut? I take it he was just a practice dummy.

I hate to see Bowen gone.....he's just one of those guys I grew to really like.........hopefully bobby will be able to give us something since we let a good shooter in jacobsen go (although I really doubt it)

Bob Sura may retire, if he chooses to come back, he will definetly play, but he may retire.

Um, if I'm not wrong, he still gets paid, but by insurance. He'll be off the Rockets salary cap too. So it's safe to say he's for real.

Then why hasn't he retired? Or at least played in a preseason game?

I think he gets a fraction of his salary paid by insurance. That's why he wont retire.

All that said, I still think he's a great player on the court.

Maybe the rehab hasn't been going that well for him? To be fair, there's no real indication on his health right now, but I believe that he's a gamer and is trying his hardest to return. It's just too unnatural a guy with his work ethic to be slacking off for money.

Yea, your most likely right. He is a baller. I think I have been a little hard on Sura lately. He became one of my favorite Rockets in less than a season.

What the heck is wrong with my quotes and the links?
