Yea, I think they were going for a total reboot of the series. It's definitely breaking from tradition, but considering the past few movies its not uncalled for. I was impressed with how they made Bond into more of a character and less of a caricature (like when he doesn't give a damn about the shaken not stirred line). I also liked how they transitioned from incredible action scenes (that one in Africa) to some real serious suspense (the poker game).

Anyways, I just watched Amu over the weekend. Very powerful movie, and I give the director full credit for trying to expose the atrocities of 1984, without making it cheesy or propaganda. Very well acted and executed. Sad as hell, though.

9/10 (probably a little bias on my part)

I have a couple movies I've bought and yet to watch, and one of them is Casino Royale. Good to hear that people are liking it. I thought it looked like a damn good movie, so I bought it last week when it was on sale.

I'll have to check out Amu, Chutney, thanks for the recommendation. I also agree with you about how James Bond was portrayed in the new film.

I did the exact same thing! Circuit City had the film on sale for $13.99 for the first two days only after release and it came with a collector's poker chip. I was hesitant to see it in the theater, but when I found out more information about it and that the director of GoldenEye was behind the film I was stoked so I waited it out to be released on DVD. Now I have it and I couldn't be happier. I'm sure you're going to love it, including Eva Green.

<div class="quote_poster">M Two One Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I just watched that a little over an hour ago and I was impressed myself. I give it the exact score actually, only I was disapointed that M was still played by Judy Dench when this Bond film is supposed to have taken place before all of the previous films. Also the mentioning of 9/11, which kills off some authenticity of the originals. However, I think the reason they've done this is actually on account of rebuilding the series, sort of the way they're taking things with Batman. Not really surprising since the James Bond films before this one were terrible.

GoldenEye was stellar and looked like the rebirth of the franchise and instead the three that followed just took things in the wrong direction entirely. Tomorrow Never Dies was ok, but then the next two were pretty bad, much more so the previous one to Casino Royale. I thought I was watching Bond meets the Matrix and Transporter. As a Bond film collector I was more then thrilled with Casino Royale. Eva Green is gorgeous.

    8/10</div>

Eva Green is beyond gorgeous. I'm stoked for the Bond coming out next year...it's supposed to be a sequel. Either way, I think Craig did a great job as Bond. He seemed more ruthless than some previous ones.

As for Batman, God damn I love Christopher Nolan and how he's taken over the franchise. Bale as Batman, great...Bale as Bruce Wayne (a billionaire playboy) simply amazing.

I'm waiting for tomorrow to roll around, I'll be picking up Blood Diamond and maybe Sleeper Cell Season 2.

Yea, I thought the best jokes were in the commercial already. And I know they were trying to be anti-climatic and all, but the ending was lame.

Decent movie, I couldn't get by the fact Frodo was trying to play a tough guy. I wasn't familiar with the term 'Firms' before, and how they represent their soccer clubs. The ending was very Hollywood.

I laughed about twice. The wife was butt ass ugly and the other chick, the hoe, wasn't that pretty, either. Good message though.

Better than I thought it'd be. Antonio Tarver is a bitch, even as an actor.

^ What was the movie you rated before Rocky Balboa, Mamba?

Anyways, I watched Drowned Out in PoliSci today. It's a documentary about the Narmada dams in India from the perspective of the villagers who live along the river. Really makes you think about the costs of development and progress.

Amazing movie. Great acting all around. Really sheds light on the some 200,000 child soldiers in Africa.

Outside of Bale's performance, I thought the movie was average. It does show some effects of returning veterans, though.

    Bale's performance, btw: 10/10

I really wanna see that 'Harsh Times', since I'm a massive Training Day fan (I know the script off by heart, lol)

Anyway, the last movie I saw was:

    8/10

Itgreat[/i] movie per say, although its a cult classic, its thoroughly enjoyable, it has an awesome story line and its a real creative concept. Keep in mind it was made in 1979, and dont go into it expecting somthing like "Menace II Society" or "Boyz N The Hood", and you should enjoy it too.
