I hate when people make predictions and factor in player health. ANY player in the league can get a season ending injury at any time. I think PF is a major weakness for the Rockets (unless Battier can handle it).
Seriosly, what's the point of these predictions? I wish I got paid to sit on my ass all day and 'make predictions' about the NBA. Especially since all of them are underranking the Spurs. I am pretty sure they will come out with a vengeance and dominate in the west.

He's all over the place.

Wow. Scoop Jackson has the Rockets finishing first in the conference. I don't find that likely, but he's the one who seems overconfident about the Rockets. Hey, he likes the Raptors' chances too. The other "experts" besides Legler I think have hit it on the nail with predictions of a 5-7 finish in the West.
Last season has to be an aberration. I don't think Yao and T-Mac will miss more than a combined 10 games. Before last season, Yao had missed only 2 games his three seasons. I don't think he is as injury-prone as every makes him out to be. Twelfth place is way too low for the Rockets. The Rocket's roster is better that they'll be able to finish with a non-vomit-inducing record, even if Yao and T-Mac were out for the season

It seems foolish to rule out a team on a potential injury to a key player. I suppose it's only fair, since a prediction is, in itself, ruling out teams based on other potentialities. Who knows how a team will actually perform? But I guess you should be ranking them based on what's coming up, and not what's already happened.

The Rockets two best players, by far, are both high risk health-wise. I think projections should take that into account.
If Steve Kerr says we have a chance then that means every analyst thinks we have a chance. Kerr is more critical towards the rockets than anybody.
honestly if you want to look at injuries, look at guys who are still not 100% after surgery... Kobe, Amare.. T-Mac hasn't had any flare-ups in the preseason, so why pick on him? Kobe and Amare haven't showed that they're over their injuries yet. Besides even without T-Mac this team can win 40+ games with Yao and the others.

Lakers have yet to play many regular season games without kobe.

And havent you been watching any ESPN. Their talking about Amare almost every chance they get, whether it's positive or negative. Besides last season Amare wasnt a player that had the "if he's healthy" tag follow him. BUt Tmac has had this back problem since Orlando so his injury has a history, credibility. Saying that... Rockets get the 3rd spot in the west my prediction. 1.Dallas 1.San Antonio 3.Houston
