i think that is the memory that sticks out in everyones heads. i didnt see the game and still know of it.
While I'm sure I watched the Superbowl before this, the first Superbowl I remember vividly was Superbowl XIX...San Francisco vs. Miami (Marino's rookie season). I still remember the game and all of the Montana/Marino Diet Pepsi commercials that aired afterward. Heh heh
I wasn't really a football fan until college. Dolfandale can be credited with getting me interested in football. I was sort of a closet Montana fan back then, but didn't really have a team. I went home for the weekend during college and watched football with my Dad that weekend and the Chiefs were playing. I think their opponents were the Saints (I don't really remember). I was impressed with Christian Okoye and with the fact that the Chiefs were the underdogs, a fact which the broadcasters seemed to keep reminding everyone of. On that day a new Chiefs fan was born. The Bengals are the "local" team where I am from in Kentucky. While I can remember my Father watching the Cowboys with rapt attention during the 70s, the first one I really remember is the 2nd Bengal-49er superbowl (XXIII) on January 22, 1989. I was one of 2 "49er fans" that day in the lobby of my dorm. Our school was about an hour and 15 minutes from Cincinnati. When Montana threw the winning TD, me and the other niner guy jumped up dancing on the couch and tipped it over backward. There were about 90 Bengal fans in the room.

The Super Bowl I remember paying attention to was Oakland/Minnesota back in the day. The Redskins/Dolphins and Redskins/Raiders are when I started watching in earnest.

Even then, you have to be up at about 1am just for the kick-off. That's why I only started watching recently.
