Not only a is Mo' a competent passer, he is also a proven scorer aswell, avering 12.1ppg off the Bench last season, although Pistons PG Chauncey Billups will be looking to smother Mo' at every given moment of the game, so look for him to play more of a "pass first, shoot second" role. He'll most likely share minutes with Charlie Bell. [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3442.jpg[/imgl]Michael Redd PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, APG: 0.0 Michael Redd loves playing against the Pistons, avereging an impressive 18.7ppg over his career against the lagues best defense. He has boasted impressive performances over the Pistons in recent battles, compiling two 40 point games against the Central Division Champs last season. The facts show Redd always has a decent outing against Detroit, and this game should be no different. Tayshaun Prince will most likely be counted on to try and shut him down. Frontcourt: [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3274.jpg[/imgl]Ruben Patterson PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, APG: 0.0 Ruben Patterson has a hard task ahead, and that is trying to score on Tayshaun Prince. Prince should get the best of Patterson, although Patterson may be able to bypass him on a good shooting display, trying to fake Prince out and move around the court alot to try and wear him down. Pattersons performance may also hinder on how well Micheal Redd plays, and wether or not he'll be matched up with Rip Hamilton mid game. [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3933.jpg[/imgl]Charlie Villanueva PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, BPG: 0.0 It's fair to say that Charlie Villanueva struggled in the off season, although not familiar with the Bucks system, its understandable, but he will be looking to bounce back to the form he maintained in Toronto in his rookie season. The Bucks are thanking their lucky stars CV31 is on their end of the court this time round, after he blazed them for a career high 48 points last season. [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3631.jpg[/imgl]Dan Gadzuric PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, BPG: 0.0 With Andrew Bogut out injured for the next 6-8 weeks, Dan Gadzuric will fill in as the starting Centre for the Bucks. Gadzuric is known to be more of a defensive nuisance than an offensive threat and offensivley, he wont see much of the ball, but his defense in the paint will be counted on to stop the Pistons getting easy baskets. [/div] Projected Starters:
(C. He helped lead the Pistons to a team record and league best record of 64 - 18 and some feel he was robbed of the MVP award. Look for Billups to again call the shots on this Pistons team which is out for revenge. [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3330.jpg[/imgl]Richard Hamilton PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, APG: 0.0 It's always a hard task to guard Rip, he'll run rings around you all day long. Matched up against Michael Redd, I dont think he will be able to contain the 6'7 guard out of the university of Conneticut. The Pistons will be counting on Rip to have a big game here, and if he can manage to get ontop of Michael Redd, he sould have one too. Frontcourt: [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3621.jpg[/imgl]Tayshaun Prince PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, APG: 0.0 Tayshaun Prince is one of the leagues premier defenders, his long length gives him a distinctive edge over many offensive players in the league. He should be starting on Ruben Patterson, but dont be surprised to see him used on Michael Redd later in the game if he is giving Rip some trouble. [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3006.jpg[/imgl]Rasheed Wallace PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, BPG: 0.0 After the shock departure of 4 time DPOY award winner Ben Wallace during the off season, the Pistons instantly lost a huge part of their inside defensive presence. The addition of Nazr Mohammed failed to really help re-bolster the presence, so the Pistons now turn to Rasheed Wallace to fill the void left by Big Ben this summer. While a very good inside defender, Sheed still has to prove he can lead this Pistons defense into the future. [imgl]http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nba/players/2005/3272.jpg[/imgl]Nazr Mohammed - PPG: 0.0, RPG: 0.0, BPG: 0.0 Many Pistons fans (myself included) were skeptical over the signing of Mohammed in the off season, many thought fellow free agent Joel Pryzbilla's inside defense would by more valued after the departure of Ben Wallace, but he opted to re-sign with the Blazers, which left us with Nazr. It has proven to be a decent signing so far, with Nazr showing so good signs during the pre season. He should definatley add a scoring threat in the paint for the Pistons. Keys To The Game:
[*]The Need For Sheed - Rasheed Wallace has become Detroits premier defender, they'll be counting on him to man the paint, and keep the Bucks at bay up close.[*]Inside, Out - The Pistons have always been a good three shooting team, however they may look to feed the ball inside more to Nazr Mohammed, who looks ready to put in some good showings.[*]Reddy To Win? - Give Micheal Redd the ball. Pistons: 94, Bucks: 88
This was the first time I've ever done this, and I havent seen much play from both teams recentley (only highlights on the internet, as I dont have Cable TV and Australian NBA coverage is crap anyway, but I have this problem solved now ) not to mention I got a bit 'rushy' towards completion, so I know this isnt a great piece, but I'm sure to get better with time, lol.
Game previews aren't easy, more so through a long season when It's tough to find time. If you look back through this forum history you will see I did alot of game previews in a different format but i do like your way better. looks quite good.
Very nice preview NTC187, hope you keep this up through out the whole season. I agree with your prediction as well.
Hahahahaha, looks like Milwaukee redd (pun intended) my preview, Mike Redd tore ish' up with 37 points, always seems to murder us. Too many turnovers cost us the game in the end.
Weird that Andrew Bogut played and played so well eh? Out to 6-8 weeks? My buns. Yeah, Redd was pretty much unstoppable. But of course, it's just one game.
