I was looking at some of the players the Pacers might end up waiving. I think the Lakers should take a strong look at the following ones ...

    James White
    Orienne Green
    Josh Powell

Keeping Aaron McKie means the Lakers are committing to making a trade sometime during the season. A deal sending out McKie and Mihm, would net the Lakers a player back in the $8M range.

Maybe we can land someone like Jamaal Magloire or Antonio McDyess for those expiring contracts.

I wouldn't call it a waste. Green wasn't going to get any playing time, and neither is McKie. The reason we're keeping McKie is trade bait. He's got $2.5mil coming off the books this year, and if we throw him and Mihm in a package together, it allows us to get a pretty decent player out of the deal. The only way this would be a waste is if Green was going to see minutes. However, he's not. Kobe, Smush, Sasha, Shamu, and Farmar are going to see a bulk of the guard minutes, and Odom, Evans, and Vlad will be seeing the bulk of the SF minutes. Green was not in the equation, so what's the point of keeping him? With McKie, we can at least trade his contract and get something out of him.
