Remember when James White was a lock to be our first round pick, until Jordan fell to us? Well here he is signed sealed and ready to be delivered. Now I know keeping Mckie is the good look because of the tradable contract, but if you can get the guy you wanted for next to nothing, do you eat the 2.5 mill?
I say we cut Shamu and pick up James White. Shamu hasn't shown much of anything in the preseason, and White could emerge as the athletic perimeter defender this team lacks.
We had to cut Green just to get to the roster limit. If we cut Green and Mckie to get Rose and White we'd be over by 1.

Cut Kobe and McKie. Sign Rose and White.
<div class="quote_poster">KingKobe Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">We need veteran leadership. Cut Kobe and McKie. Sign Rose and White.</div> I'm sure "cut Kobe" was a mistake, but I agree McKie needs to be shown the door. If the Knicks can buyout Jalen Rose for a whopping $16M, the Lakers can afford the $2.5M price tag to buyout McKie.
I'm pretty sure in order to sign both White and Rose we will have to cut three players. Aren't we 1 player over the roster limit? With that said, cut Green, McKie, and Shammond. Sign James White and Jalen Rose. That would be one hell of an off-season!
If the Lakers waived Kobe, could a team pick him up off waivers? like the Knicks? or do they have to have cap space available to do it? Well if Jalen Rose averages 20 ppg, and James White averages 14 ppg they will make up Kobe's scoring, and if a team picks up Kobe's salary off waivers, its a huge money saver, genius idea KingKobe, but you will lose one of your two favourite players.

<div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"></div> Very funny. Back 2 Topic Jalen played in the Triangle when he was in Chicago when Tim Floyd was the coach. So it shouldnt be to hard for him.

Fine cut both Farmar and Kobe.
