<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">EL SEGUNDO ? Chris Kaman is fit to go, but the two primary backups to the Clippers' starting center are ailing. That means rookie Paul Davis might get thrown into action sooner than anyone expected when the Clippers open the regular season Wednesday at Phoenix. Offseason acquisition Aaron Williams is likely to be in uniform for the opening night, but he has had a lower-back strain for much of camp. Williams did not practice Monday. But his situation is better than that of Zeljko Rebraca, who missed training camp because of a pinched nerve in his lower back. Rebraca played in 29 games last season because of heart problems that subsequently required him to undergo a surgery. Rebraca has not been cleared to participate in any team-related activities because he has not yet passed a physical examination. Rebraca had his third epidural in the past two months administered Monday, which he reported provided more relief than the previous two. He is out indefinitely. Rebraca averaged 5.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 58 games in 2004-05, providing the Clippers with an effective low-post scorer off the bench. "When (Rebraca) is healthy, we're pretty solid in the low post," Coach Mike Dunleavy said. "We're definitely a better team with him." Williams' best attribute is his defensive rebounding. He also can score inside, although he does not have the offensive moves Rebraca has.</div> Source
He's been impressive in the time he's gotten on the court, so it's definately not a bad thing for him to get some experience there.
