Yeah I'm kind of not suprised one at all. No matter what though it sounds like he'll have regrets which is going to be tough.. He'll probably announce it after the Super Bowl in my opinion.

That really sad part is . . .
If there was one guy who could pull off a deal to bring him back . . .
    it would be him.

I want him to play for 5 more years. He doesnt have what it takes to get it done anymore. He lost it. I can only assume what he lost was ability to wheel and deal, cuz physically he is in good shape as he ever was.

What I find interesting is that he alludes to the idea that he can physically take the game, but mentally he is breaking down. That is quite the admission.

If he doesn't think he can bring 100% of his attention to the game, then he needs to step aside.

I agree. I think physically if he was on a team like Miami or Tampa he could still be an effective QB but because the Packers are rebuilding he can't be effective. Mentally it seemed as if he thought he had to do everything this season. Some of the throws he made were just awful. I think he threw up just about 4 or 5 ballst that were picked alone this year. Physically he still has th zip on the ball and he can move similar to what he used to be able to do.

If he does finally retire then I wish him well, it seems as if it'll be his decsision at least and not Cheap asses', I also believe he may still return for one more year though, if we could get him an O-line, and some healthy players he'll be fine, we have the money to do so, lets do it!

the greatest moment of his career was when he purposely fell down so Strahan could beat the recond of sacks in a season...i thought it was good to see an NFL player so selflessly give up his pride to let another player succeed...that was the moment when i decided to give him unconditional praise and love...if he leaves that is the moment stuck in my mind...

Favre will dissapear. He'll never be a coach or get into media like Young or Aikman.

I hope that is sarcasm. It is one of the 3 greatest acts of cheating in professional sports.

I have to ask. What are the other two? I have a suspicion that one occured in the desert and involved one of our Super Bowl teams.

Packers are gonna be bad next year because Aaron Rodgers is gonna need a lot of time to develop and i dont like the hire by TT in McCarthy.

Favre will be back next year.

This season was a strain on him, both mentally and physically. Last year at this time, one month after the season was over, Favre said the same thing. "If I had to decide right now, I'd retire."

Favre doesn't need to make a decision any time soon. Rodgers and Nall will be back and Thompson can conduct his draft without having to worry about what he does. The Packers have a ton of cap room, with or without Favre's salary.

They're going to leave him alone for a few months and when all is said and done, he'll be back.

Now, if Thompson sits around and has a crappy draft, drops a bunch of free agents and doesn't make any off season moves to improve the team, THEN I could see Favre retiring. But if the team's offseason moves are even remotely competent, I expect he'll be back.
