<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Lakers and Brian Cook agreed on a three-year, $10.5 million contract extension just before the start of Tuesday's game. Cook will have a player option for the third year.

Cook's agent Mark Bartelstein had said there would be no deal earlier in the day but things changed at the last minute.

``Both sides made some changes right at the very end and we found a number we both could agree on," Bartelstein said.

Cook signed the contract in the minutes before tipoff.

Good signing by the Lakers. Cook's contract is a pretty good bargain considering how much everyone is getting paid these days. I hope he continues to improve and brings a good spark off the bench.

Considering how much bigs get paid (even though he plays like a 3), it's a good contract. Wraps up one of our best shooters for the next few years, which isn't a bad thing by any means in my opinion.

Yea that is good price for Cook, not a steal price, but very reasonable.

Good price if you ask me. He's been great off the bench and could be key this year to another run in the playoffs.

Fair contract for Cookie. He's instant offense off the bench, and not afraid to mix it up in the post anymore. Yesterday him and Kurt Thomas got into a little and Cookie has been laying players out during the preseason. He's also become very good at standing in and drawing the charge.

The only player we need to take care of now is Luke.
