There is also the factor of the Warriors having been sweep by the Lakers last year. That will be in the Warriors mind tonight and will be a factor on the Warriors winning tonight. Then there is the home court factor for watever reason the Warriors always play the Lakers tough at Oakland.Nelly will make sure to help the Warriors when they hit a rough spot during the game something that Monty couldn't do last year.

Wagner is on the IR because his defense is too poor.

    Hmm seems about even.

I wonder how we deal with Odom. We dont have much sf depth.

sigh... if only we could hit free throws. I wouldn't mind if our big guys were missing them, but our guards?

It also appears Dunleavy can't shoot the new ball either.

Whats up with all the blown layups? I cant watch the game I am just going buy the gamecast. Looks like the same old Warriors. We need to dump Murphy and Dun and get Beans and Ike in there!

Exactly man. We need inside presence. This guard b.s. won't cut it especially if Jrich, Baron Davis and Pietrus hit half their free throws. They cannot emulate inside presence or shotblocking the way real big men can posting up down low. Murphy and Dunleavy might as well have their own brand of toilet paper they are so soft inside and defensively.

I don't like how the announcers are saying it's "opening night jitters". Aside from Murphy blowing layups, it looks like the Warriors are already in season form. [IMG]

Why did Murphy change his free throw shooting form? It's throwing him off. He was better shooting his shots the old way.

That's what I'm talking about! Ike n Biedrins F/C tandem. That's how it should be for now. Forget trying to make stars or complimentary starting players out of Murphy and Dunleavy. It's about building around Jrich and Baron. Not Dun or Murphy.

Its a tough pill to swallow when Luke Walton is out scoring out "big guys".[IMG]

Hopefully Nellie is smart enough to put Ike and Beans it for big minutes if these guys cant get it done. Good news is Baron is our leading scorer...

We changed coaches, but we didn't get stronger in the areas where we were weakest. Right now that's center. I mean we'll see if we can make things change throughout the season. I'd like to see Biedrins or POB or Ike start and for our guards to shoot free throws when it matters (in real games not practice)

And that's why I blast the management for not being able to have the flexibility in improving the starting lineup. I'm sorry if I do that. But that's the way I feel about this whole franchise and the last 12 season. They have to do something right for a change at all levels of operation not just scouting, but financial management and team vision.

    Edit;

Wow that Baron Davis shot was so bad, it looked like one of his free throws...

and Jrich can't find anything since coming off of rehab from surgery.

So when's the big bad Andrew Bynum going to dominate us inside?

This is depressing, the Lakers have completely dictated the tempo of this game. Not for one single stretch have the Warriors been able to get into a running rhythm. This is a bad sign because it's completely unlike all those preseason games. If everything that happened there was a fluke, we're in trouble.

What happened to Nelly ball? Opening season jitters? Looks like Monty ball minus the Fish.

It's the same crap because we don't have any inside presence or reliable shooters. Everyone tries to iso and dribble inside and they kick out so that the next guy can do the same. It's pathetically predictable. [IMG]

They didn't even need Bynum or Kobe to whoop our asses, because we're killing ourselves with foul shooting and poor defensive ability. Not effort, but ability. Our guys just don't have the footspeed plus size to defend.

So I don't blame coaching, I will say some of it is new season jitters ("the mating period ", as coined by Foyle) But it's the same roster because it's Mullin's only move he could make without going over the luxury tax. And it's also the only thing we can do until we free up cap and start looking towards our rookies for that answer inside.

Also, the Warriors need plays. They aren't running plays, they're just going iso all the time. That's a move, not a play, Barnett or Fitz or whoever said "play'.

The most telling stat for me is 1-13 from 3 point range (at the end of 3 quarters). That's completely counter to the way they played in the preseason, where they shot the 3 rarely and waited for good looks instead of shooting them from desperation. Sad to say but JRich is the worst culprit here at 1-5. I wonder if by not playing in the preseason he didn't really get the message. You're right, CR, looks a lot like last year's Warriors.
