Bill Simmons is always a fun read. He discusses 33 subplots to keep you interested in the NBA for the next 9 months: NBA Preview, Part I NBA Preview, Part II
What a clown. How is he implying Q-Rich is fat? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If you're trying to figure out how the Knicks season could possibly be more entertaining than it was last season, well, here's how: More fat guys! Move over from the buffet table, Jerome James, Q and Eddy are coming in for seconds!</div> Then he says: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What about the illogical Jalen Rose buyout, whose $16.9 million salary could have been used for a deadline deal in a few months?</div> However contradicts himself here: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He has cost the Knicks hundreds of millions of dollars.</div> So we should keep Rose, trade him for another overpaid player with a long-term contract, then you can criticize our salary cap problems?
You'll hurt yourself, if you take his articles completely seriously. It is pretty entertaining, though. lol @ Isiah Thomas as head coach being the equivalent of Sophia Coppola casting herself as Marie Antoinette.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And if that's not enough, it will be fun to watch every reporter at courtside instinctively grab for their laptops every time Williams comes to the scorer's table to check into a game.</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">25. Jorge Garbajosa Spanish forward on the Raptors. Looks like he should be wearing a linen suit and trying to shoot Crockett and Tubbs. It's hard to tell if he showers or not. But you know what? He does a ton of "those things" (gets garbage layups, makes open 3s, ticks people off in the low post, knows how to execute the roll on a pick-and-roll) and looks like the odds-on favorite to win the 2007 Andres Nocioni Memorial "I Don't Know Who That Foreign Dude Is, But He's Pretty Good" Award. One potential threat: Yakhouba Diawara has been making a late run in Denver, with the added bonus that Marv Albert might actually scream the words, "Yak-houb-ah Di-ah-WARE-ah!" this season. Keep an eye on this one.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">26. Legitimate rivalries Bron-Bron vs. Wade. Kobe vs. Raja. San Antonio vs. Dallas. Cuban vs. Stern. Artest vs. his inner demons. Nash vs. his barber. Greg Anthony vs. Isiah. Curry & Richardson vs. the salad bar in the Knicks' player's lounge. Hubie Brown vs. the second-person. The Hawks owners vs. each other. Peter Vecsey vs. everybody. </div> Great article all around.
Sports Guy has the CLIPPERS in the finals. LMAO. What a homer. Okay, so say Elton Brand is as good as Duncan (I say he's not) Is Kaman David Robinson? (he's not even Nenad Krstic) Mobley Manu Ginobili? Who spiked this poor guy's latte? Clippers are in the process of getting their asses handed to em in the opener by the Suns who PLAYED Last night and can't stop Anybody. ANd he has them in the FINALS?????? they'll be lucky to get to the 2nd round again.

As for Kaman, he's actually very good and is probably in the top 7 or so big men in the league. And just a thought, he's MUCH better than Krstic. He's a much better rebounder and his post game is a lot better, and he's also a good defensive player. Also, the Clipps didn't get their asses handed to them. Losing by eight isn't a horrible loss. They were without Maggette tonight, well, for the most part. The Suns were also much more determined tonight cause they didn't want to start their season off 0-2. And just cause they played last night, it doesn't make a huge diff right now. The season just began, and if people are already getting fatigued, than they're horribly, horribly out of shape.

Krstic is way more skilled and athletic. so what if he's not the rebounder Kaman is? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The season just began, and if people are already getting fatigued, than they're horribly, horribly out of shape.</div>Actually it's the start of the season when back-to-backs are hard. as the season goes along, the conditioning is better and their body gets used to it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Also, the Clipps didn't get their asses handed to them. <div class="quote_poster">olskoolFunktitude Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Kaman is much better than Kristic. not even close</div> lmao yeah okay. it's not even close lol. Kaman can't make a basket more than 5 feet away. Krstic spreads the defense all over the floor, can pump fake, go baseline and hit turnaround jumpers at the top of the key, and bomb 3s. I'd like to see Kaman do that. let's see who's an allstar first
i dont think any of them are going to be all stars soon but no coach or GM in the league would take Kristic over Kaman.
<div class="quote_poster">olskoolFunktitude Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">i dont think any of them are going to be all stars soon but no coach or GM in the league would take Kristic over Kaman.</div> Depends on the system. I could see quite a few teams taking Krstic over Kaman - Phoenix Suns or Boston Celtics for example.
haha. yeah. you might be right about the Boston Celtics. After all, they do have a GM who signed Brian Scalabrine to a 5-year contract
