Looks like the Lions grabbed Mike Martz to run the offense and they grabbed the Packers O-Line coach, Larry Beightol.

Not bad... Millen must have gone on vacation and left someone else in charge. =)

I'm not big on Martz. He needs a quarterback for his gameplan to be effective and they don't have one. Now if they get one then Detriot could be putting together a nice looking team. I think they need to trade Charles Rogers and go with Mike and Roy Williams as their receivers next year.

I spoke too soon. Millen must be back because Martz backed out. *laughs*

    Oh, well...

He must've saw Joey "The Bust" Harrington on the roster as the starter.

Haha, when will the Lions actually give in to the fact that Harrington is a bust?

In fairness, for a bust he has longetivity! They usually just disappear

The Packers o-line coach they got and he's one of the best o-line coaches in the game. Green Bay's line played actually very well for letting go two pro bowl guards. Larry Beightol is his name and I wish McCarthy would of kept him on the staff but they want to bring in a zone blocking scheme.

Packers O-Line lost big last year in free agency, Mike Wahle and Mike Tausche i think?? Correct me if I am wrong.

Look at the job Wahle did this year for carolina, an all pro.

also no one is talking about Donnie Henderson the defensive coordinator from the Jets hes now running the Lions defense which will be huge for the Lions. He transformed a 24th ranked defense into 4th a few years ago with the Jets hes a great coach i think that defense could be trouble next year because of him. I actually wanted him to be the Jets head coach

I read on NFL.com last night that Martz did eventually end up signing with the Lions and I think it's a good move, if they get him some players to work with. Their running game is good, Kevin Jones is a bright, young star. They have a decent core of recievers, as long as they stay healthy. The recievers show alot of speed as does Jones and since that's what Martz strived on in his glory year in St. Louis, I think he'll be able to do something with them.

The big question mark is their quarterback situation. But, I think if they can get Harrington to settle down, get the running game going well so all the pressure isn't on his shoulders, and knowing that he has a good offensive coordinator coming in, it may help him out, and he'll get away from the terrible QB persona he has been dragging around with him since he came into the league. I always thought that Harrington had what it takes to be good, he just continues to prove me wrong. It'll be interesting to see what the Lions do after their new hire is finally official. They can trade up with the Saints and take Leinart, I don't care, lol... as long as Young is on his way to Tennessee baby!

I used to be one of Harrington's 'fans' thinking that he had the potential to be good. The only way I can see things working out for him now is if he gets a fresh start somewhere. I don't think that his fellow players have any faith him which will make it much harder for him to do well...
