IF they did hide his age, it's probably so he could compete in tournaments for Teens as an older player and also to drive up his value. From my limited experience watching him play this past summer, he seems so inconsistent and just disappears from the game some times. Hopefully he can fulfil his potential in the NBA. This is sort of on topic, does anyone know China's plans for their young pg, chen jianghua? I like that he seems to be aggressive and not timid at all this past summer.
That age counting is a norm in Korea, and I believe the same in China and Japan. Yes, if a baby is born at 11:59 PM, 12/31, that baby will become 2 years old before he/she can even open eyes, but that's how it is. And, if you think that's weird, basically whole world can say how people in US uses feet and inch system, which is divided by 12, when most of the world uses meter and kg system...
i think china is going to have much better and much more nba prospects in the future. yi jian lian will be a monster, chen jian hua is gonna be "Azn Iverson" and maybe, just MAYBE if tht gigantic guy who was called sun ming ming or sumthing like that will make it if he gets faster.
