<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND ? It seemed appropriate, the way things were going, the way the team was playing, the way the fans were booing. During a timeout, the in-house television camera located a rather inelegant sort to match him with one the characters from "Lost."

The guy was someone wearing a Lakers jersey, in the Warriors' house no less, and he when looked up to the big screen and realized he was the butt of a joke gave the audience the middle finger.

Which is what happens when you don't have things under control.

Sort of like the Warriors on opening night.

The analyses of Game 1, embellished by some of the more candid remarks any coach ever made about his players, were quick and uncompromising.

The great plan had gone unfulfilled. At least for an evening.

Leading to the inevitable question, when tonight the Warriors return to the Oracle to play the Portland Trailblazers:

    Egad! Now what?

Is Mike Dunleavy still going to be a "disaster"? The word choice was made by his very own coach, Don Nelson, who also pointed out Dunleavy "didn't do anything," which wasn't quite true. He did have tworebounds and two baskets. In 27 minutes.

Will Baron Davis, point guard, again take more shots than anyone on the team, 19, a total that tripled his number of assists? </div>
