NBA.com just named J-Rich MR. Average i really don't know how this can be a compliment http://www.nba.com/news/survey_2006.html
Wow, that kind of makes Jason Richardson underrated. Well, what can we say. He's not a franchise player and he's borderline all-star material. But that's got to piss Jrich off considering he can win games for us and he's very consistent except for foul shooting. How can a non-shooter be a high fg% guy for us? He's not even a real shooting guard. The other four starting guys must really suck at putting the ball in the basket. Montgomery couldn't even keep him down
Well, it really has nothing to do with the performance. It's based on the height, weight, age and experience. Considering Richardson is 2.5 in postion, that makes him even more average ...

... and hopefully for less than the max contract
Here's how much he makes through '09. He makes about as much as Baron Davis. So if the max amount we could fit on the roster with bench depth would be one other max paid player. It's kind of like how the Sixers have to be careful when they have Webber and Ai on the same team, plus 3 other guys they need to fit in and a bench. I'd be happy if one day we could fit salaries to those of San Antonio or Detroit and find plenty of underrated talent that is paid market or below market price. I think some sports agents tend to inflate or overblow what the market really is. Dampier, that one guy from Seattle who went to the Knicks (Jerome James), Foyle, Fisher, Blount, etc. Tons overpaid (mostly big guys) in that one '04 season. And look where those teams went. Uggg... Can't overpay if we're a rising team no matter how desperate we are for a center. Better to save money and spend it on somebody who is going to be more impact at that position. I hope we follow Chicago's example and find the players that could play together and not give into players like Curry or Chandler who either are too limited for what they are asking for or just don't fit in with the better players like Hinrich/Gordon/or the Argentinian MVP.. what's that guy's name? That's one player I'm glad we took care of early rather than wait in '04-'05 offseason. Now if Jason Richardson can work on his game to battle against shutdown playoff-type defense, we're in business. Marion definitely holds the edge in free throws, rebounding, and defense, but offensively I almost think Richardson and Marion are similar in some ways. Their points come from up close and they can shoot some 3's and take some guys off the dribble. They do better when somebody else creates for them or else they tend to struggle when they are forced to make decisions with the ball.
