They're reporting him as injured, saying that he "sprained his left ankle." There seems to be a different story going on behind the scenes though. He never really said anything about the trade except that he wasn't going to report to the team's camp, and the break he had with the team last offseason was pretty ugly. Odds are he gets traded soon or remains "injured."
Jerry West should trade him for Haywood; one underacheiving malcontent for another, and both want out where they are now. Plus it would allow West to finally say he acquired a real center LOL.
Lol Schaddy, you're a smart man. I love that trade, as a Wizard fan. Why? Swift is on the wrong team, I may be wrong, but aren't the Grizz a half court team? Swift belongs on a running team, like Washington. Haywood is a half-court center, he doesn't fit in the Washington offense. Brendan belongs in a half-court offense. I do believe he could compliment Gasol well.
And with Pau Gasol and Hakim Warrick coming into his own, a spot for Stro on the Grizz is wearing thin, I dont see a reason to keep him around, apart from an inside defensive presence, although from what I understand, he has work ethic issues.
Well, Haywood and Swift both are horrible so it wouldn't really matter if they get traded for each other. It's not like they are going to play.
