I'm sure I'm not the only one, Kobe didn't LOOK like Kobe last night, and I'm not talking about his jersey number. My brother said he looked skinnier, I thought he looked bigger, and someone said he looked fatter. He has lost the cuts on his upper body due to bulking and not being able to do too much cardio. Perhaps it's making his lower body look smaller? Maybe it was the fact that he also shaved his head as well. And finally, the sweat band is no longer on his bicep. From my understand, it's a NEW NBA RULE BY COMMISSIONER STERN, that players are no longer allowed to wear sweat bands on their arms or legs, THAT MAKES ME FURIOUS. Stern is taking everything way too far. THoughts?
I don't like the new wristband thing. Doesn't suit him. He LOOKS uncomfortable. I think I'm just not settled on the whole #24 w/ the wristband and fatter arms look. As long as he plays great basketball though, I don't care.
He's not in the best shape he's been in, that's obvious. And he's been out 16 weeks so it will take awhile for Kobe to get back in the game shape we're accustomed to seeing him in. I think he bulked up more from last season, because he said he wants to attack the rim more. Last year he slimmed down, because PJax wanted him to run around a lot on offense.
Look at his left bicep. He hasn't lost his upper body muscle. I'm sure he knows what he's doing with his training.

He's been off the floor for what? 16 weeks? He may be in shape lifting wise, but being in basketball shape is different. Give him a few more games. Im sure we'll see the old Kobe.
He's not wearing that arm band he used to wear. Also he isn't wearing those sleaves he used to wear on his calf. He looks thicker and older.
He's been out for 16 weeks and he's getting older. He looks bigger. It's the new Kobe though. He's still my favorite player
Kobe looks much bigger and stronger than last year. Though, he still isn't in basketball shape yet as evidenced when he tried to dunk the ball but couldn't. He lost his explosion and athleticism but those aspects of his game will come back once he plays up to about 10 games. Although I like his bulkiness, especially his upper body but he still need to work on his muscle definitio, getting it more rip instead of getting it bigger. Anyway, I noticed he was extremely slow and tend to get tired pretty quickly, a sign of someone who is old and injury.

I'm not sure. I think it's been a little longer. I think Kobe looks great. He bulked up over the off season obviously, doesn't look fat at all. He looks strong, I expect to see him in the post a lot this year. If that's true about the stupid armband/legband thing, then Stern should really lose his job now. He's going way to far.
Though you guys say kobe is out of shape... he is not too out of shape coz he was still able to play 40 mins, score 23 pts, 4 rebs, 6 assists... IMO because of his competitiveness, kobe wouldn't back down against Le Bron even if he hasn't played basketball for a year and is totally out of shape
Being competitive still doesnt help you win games. Yeah, he may not back down on Lebron if he was out of shape, but he would certainly get tooled.
Just watching the first game everyone can tell Kobes rusty but just give him a couple games and he'll be his old self.
