I know Zach (not as a friend but as an acquaintance from Michigan State), and we have a lot of mutual friends, so I'm a fan and not trying to bash him or anything, but his game is unpredictable because his problems are all mental. He has the size and talent to average upwards of 20/10 every single night if he wants to, but there's no telling what kind of attitude he'll approach the game with.

I saw him in that Blazers practice on NBA TV last month and he seemed really unresponsive to coach McMillan's instructions and half-assed the drills, but judging by his early play (26.0 ppg, 10.3 rpg), you'd think he's got his act together. It's just a very unpredictable situation with him.

I hope he does well, so far he's been truly tearing it up, I mean 28+ PPG, that's insane. I hope he scores 50 againt the Mavs.

I don't want to be mean...

Zach is a huge contributer to the team, but I'm not really impressed. So he can score...but what about the other factors?
I was at a game the other night and he was the last man back every time, he's lazy. He doesn't block shots, he doesn't make steals...and I've yet to see him pass to a wide open cutter rather than shoot.
He's the type of player that would drive me absolutely insane if he was a member of my team.

He's been doing a great job thusfar, but I don't really trust it. Players who have been identified by weight problems and lack of motivation are such a tricky thing, since the motivation to sit around and slack can be like a second nature if things aren't going well. If the Blazers aren't able to make a nice push forward this year, I might consider sending Randolph out while his value is high. You could probably fleece the Knicks out of a few more of their elite draft picks in coming years.
