    A "real" fan since '87????

Wasn't that the during the time of Mark Malone, Walter Abercrombie and Louis Lipps?

Why start being a fan then?

The year Rod Woodson was drafted.... I had just turned 14 as well. Before that I really didn't "get" football.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2005)</div><div class='quotemain'>Then again, nothing anyone can say will change the outcome of the game. SOoOoOo..... I guess I'll enjoy Pittsburgh's 5th ring. Even if we sucked and the media and NFL gave us the SB because of Jerome. <--- That's really dumb FYI.</div>
The controversy is pretty stupid if you ask me. I seem to remember the Steelers overcoming probably the most lopsided reffing experience in NFL history when they beat the Colts. It just goes to show that a good team overcomes obstacles, even the zebras.

I will say, though, that the media was Pittsburgh biased. That has nothing to do with the outcome of the game, but I can understand the frustrations on the part of Seattle fans in regards to that.

Oh, and Ben did play a horrible game - but he won, just as he has done so many other times. He really is a unique talent - he does not need numbers to win a game - he just needs two or three good plays.

I do agree about Ben's performance. He didn't handle the new "Super Bowl" balls very well. But he's played well all post season otherwise.

I think it's funny though that the Steelers played good defense the whole game. I mean the coverage was there, they held Shaun in check. He had 1 carry for 21 yards and 19 carries for 74 yards otherwise.

Seattle didn't take advantage of the opportunities that they had and made too many mistakes when it mattered. But people won't talk about that. So what's the point?

I think for the most part there was more Pittsburgh bias. But then again, check the so called expert picks. They were about even.....

Sure, the expert picks were even, but the media did shade towards Pittsburgh. I think the storyline was a bit better there because of Bettis, and Seattle tends to be a forgotten team. There is nothing fans can do about this, and it certainly did not effect the outcome of the game.

If you want to get upset, check out this article which gives feedback from readers. Sounds like a lot of people who are not willing to admit their team got outplayed. Pittsburgh did what they needed to in order to win - and it worked.

As bad as Ben played (I think he had a 22 passer rating), he managed to make the plays that counted in the end. I'll take that over a passer rating of 100 any day.

I already saw the article. Unfortunately, not everyone really understands the game fully. There will be a lot of parroting this week.

    Que sera, sera......
