The Bulls come into tonight’s contest against the Milwaukee Bucks off a crushing last minute defeat in their home opener, courtesy of the Sacramento kings. The Bulls have become notorious for their slow starts the last several seasons, and at 1-2 they are hoping to fight their way back to .500 tonight. It will be easier said then done however as the Bucks are off to a tremendous start to their 2006-07 campaign with convincing wins over the Pistons and Kings. Will the Bulls rebound from a tough lose? Bulls…..Bucks….its going down!

PPG: 14.7, RPG: 5.0, APG: 6.0
Maurice Williams has become the Bucks starting point guard by default, following the exodus of TJ Ford via trade , and Mo Williams has shined in his new role. After being one of the leading candidates for the sixth man of the year award merely a year ago. Williams has taken his game to yet another level, now that he is a full time starter. Williams is averaging impressive numbers in the first three games of the regular season. He hopes to continue his great play tonight in Chicago.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/michael_redd.jpg[/imgl]Michael Redd
PPG: 26.0, RPG: 3.7, APG: 2.3
Michael Redd has been redd hot thus far this season, at least shooting wise. Although, Redd has had a hot hand shooting wise. He has not done much in the rebounding, nor the assist categories. Redd is at that level right now, were he is on the verge of becoming a perennial all star. However, in order for that to happen he will need to become the great overall player, which he the potential to be. Redd has had some impressive games against the Bulls over the last few seasons he hopes to add another in tonight’s contest.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/ruben_patterson.jpg[/imgl]Ruben Patterson
PPG: 7.3, RPG: 4.3, APG: 3.7
The once self proclaimed “Kobe stopper” has played for his fair share of teams over the course of the last three seasons (Portland, Denver, and Milwaukee) it seems that all the traveling has humbled him a bit, or perhaps it is the small Milwaukee market that has kept him under the radar. Either way Patterson has been quietly going about his business thus far this season, doing the little things it takes for his team to get where it wants to be.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/charlie_villanueva.jpg[/imgl]Charlie Villanueva
PPG: 19.3, RPG: 10.0, APG: 2.7
Despite having an extraordinary rookie season, north of the boarder, Villanueva could not help but find himself with a new address over the summer. One of the Bucks biggest off-season acquisition, Villanueva has put up monster numbers thus far this season in Milwaukee. Averaging nearly 20 points and 10 rebounds a night Charlie has emerged as one of the early season favorites for the most improved player awards.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/andrew_bogut.jpg[/imgl]Andrew Bogut
PPG:18.3, RPG: 8.0, APG: 2.7
Last years number one overall pick, Andrew Bogut, has quietly been averaging some impressive numbers down in Milwaukee. He currently leads the team in field goal percentage shooting nearly 70% from the field. While ranking second in rebounds and third in scoring, on the team. Bogut will be tested tonight against the former defensive player of the year, Ben Wallace.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/kirk_hinrich.jpg[/imgl]Kirk Hinrich
PPG: 18.3, RPG: 1.7, APG: 4.3
Kirk Hinrich is off to an impressive start to the 2006-07 season, scoring wise he has been lighting other teams up. However, his assist numbers are down thus far from where they were last season and the team has struggled at times because of it. Hinrich will need to get back to being that pass first point guard tonight in order for the Bulls to get back to their winning ways. With 12 of their first 14 games on the road the Bulls need to take advantage of every home game early on in the season.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/ben_gordon.jpg[/imgl]Ben Gordon
PPG: 11.7 PPG, RPG: 1.0, APG: 2.0
Ben Gordon is off to a slow start this season, much like the last two years. Gordon has struggled to find his shot from the arc thus far this year, although it has improved since opening night. Gordon will be looking to break the 20 point barrier for the second time this season tonight. Gordon will need to find a level of consistency if he hopes to become “the man” on this young Bulls squad.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/luol_deng.jpg[/imgl]Luol Deng
PPG: 17.7, RPG: 3.7, APG: 1.7
Luol Deng is having just the season everyone imagined he would have, he has been automatic from 15-17 feet away from the basket, and is second of the Bulls in scoring. Deng has also shown several new dimensions to his game and has everyone wondering how good he can be as the season wears on. What impresses people the most is that he is not only average 18 points a game, but doing so in only 28 minutes of action.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/pj_brown.jpg[/imgl]PJ Brown
PPG: 2.0, RPG: 3.3, APG: 0.3
Despite starting, PJ Brown has played a limited roll thus far this season. He has averaged only 16 minutes a night, and his numbers have been reflective of his playing time. Although, he has not produced much while on the court Brown has helped bring leadership to the young Bulls squad, as one of the teams tri-captains.

[imgl]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/ben_wallace.jpg[/imgl]Ben Wallace
PPG: 6.0, RPG:9.7, APG: 1.3
Ben Wallace has faced some of the best big men the east have to offer thus far this season in Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard. The challenge will not get any easier for him tonight as he will be facing the young talented tandem of Bogut and Villanueva. Wallace has averaged solid, but not spectacular numbers through the first three games of the season. I think everyone expects him to improve as he gains some more chemistry with his teammates.

<font size=""1"">Maintain a Lead <font size=""1"">the Bulls watched the Sacramento Kings chip away at a double digit lead and eventually over take them for the win in a game which they controlled nearly every statistical category. The Bulls need to learn that they cannot make a habit of getting a lead and giving it up. They need to come out and make a statement tonight, get a big lead and hold it throughout the entire game.[/list]

<font size=""1"">Ball Movement <font size=""1""> the Bulls have no one on the team averaging over four assists this season. The Bulls need to do a better job of moving the ball around tonight and finding the open man. [/list]

Scott Skiles has most definitely given the Bulls an ear full all weekend following an embarrassing lose in their home opener. Expect the Bulls to come out with fire in their eyes tonight and pull out an impressive victory over their divisional rivals..

The bucks are pretty dangerous, but they're a week defensive team with Paterson being the only notable defender and Bogut being able to hold is own.

I will be annoyed if we lose this though, look for the Bulls to get going straight away if we're going to win this. We need to have some energy early.

That is what I like to see holding teams to around 35% shooting.

Thabo is playing well, as is Ben Gordon. 22 points and 9 assists at the half.

PJ Brown made early work of Bogut.

Nocioni continued playing after almost breaking his ankle.

That was a great victory by the Bulls, and I only saw the last of the fourth. Ben had 37 and the rookie Thabo is impressing me. If he keeps it up, I think he'll be battling for a starting spot.

Thabo won't be battling for a starting spot, Gordon just scored 37 and Hinrich is the best player we have.

Man I woulda watched it, but I had an exam on today :s
Would have been a great game to watch, I haven't seen any bulls games as of yet. I can't wait to see the rookies perform.

On the other hand I don't think we should get too excited bout this win. I don't consider the Bucks a contender and they have bad defense anyway.

Melbourne Cup day is not classified as a University holiday, along with Queens Birthday, Labor day. I know Monash don't have a holiday today as well.

Man that is tight, I never had an exam on Cup day.

I would never go if there was...especially if the Bulls were on. Luckily I am now one year removed from uni.

Quote:

[IMGR]http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/gordon_300_061106.jpg[/imgr]Ben Gordon looked sharp in his jacket and tie as he stood by his locker after the game. He earned more than a few style points on the court, too.

Gordon scored 37 points and set a career high with nine assists to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 110-85 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.

Gordon, who was 15-of-25 from the field, was two points shy of his career high when he headed to the bench with 3:29 left and the Bulls ahead by 22 points. He had 22 points and all of his assists in the first half.

``We have great potential,'' Gordon said. ``We've got to make it happen.''

And the Bulls did just that on Monday.

Andres Nocioni and Luol Deng each scored 17 points for Chicago, while P.J. Brown finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Brown was 6-for-12 from the field, after going 1-for-10 over the first three games.

And Ben Wallace grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked five shots.

Michael Redd led the Bucks with 30 points, while Charlie Villanueva scored 17 and grabbed 13 rebounds.
