The problem with KG is that he'll put the organisation ahead of him. He will resign just because he feels he'll be seen as "ungrateful" if he leaves.

^^^ The guaranteed 46 million dollars might also have a little influence too. I'd actually be very surprized if he opted out of that contract for a significantly smaller one. It'd probably be the biggest paycut I've seen.

That's true, however you gotta look at a big picture here. KG already earns enough money that he can spend for the rest of his life. Money was never an issue for him; he's not the type that play for money. Beside, if he chooses to play in LA, think about the marketing, endorsement deal, and all those business side of his career that he gonna get.

In order to get KG, LO has to go. Would you want LO gone? I would, I never thought of LO as a player that can take us to that next step. He doesn't seem to have that "killer instinct" in his game. When he doesn't score, his impact on the game is limited.

LO (10mil), Kwame Brown (9mil), Cook (2.5mil), 1 Round Draft pick is enough for KG.

That's insane! Why would we give up 3 of our forwards for KG, and 2 of our future players at that! The only way we should be THINKING KG is if he wishes to join us through the free agency next year.

Well, that is the likely scenario that would make the trade works. Beside we must give something that interest the T-Wolve to begin with. Do you think the T-Wolve would accept our packet of Sasha, Chris Mihm, Aaron Mckie, Smush Parker, Shammuel Williams for KG? [IMG] The Lakers will not trade Bynum and they shouldn't, he is our future. That left us with Odom and Kwame, two interest picks the Wolves might be interest in. Throw in a 1st Round draft pick to give them a stable future. Throw in Brian Cook to match KG's salary with over 20mils/season. I love Cook's shooting but we already have Vlad, and Luke proved he can be a reliable at SF position, that's mean Cook is the odd man out. We have Ronnie to backup KG and when you're backup for a superstar like KG who plays at least 35mins per game, you don't need another forward. Bynum shows he can play Center. With KG and AB in the paint, that is a lot of shot block. What we lack is a backup Center, so that's mean we have to bring back Chris Mihm or sign another C on the market. By the Summer of 08, Ron Artest will be available, and there is a chance he will sign with the Lakers to play with Kobe and KG. If we have KB, KG, RA, and throw in the emerging AB, well you got yourself an instant championship team for at least 5 years.

Well, I agree with you that we should acquire KG through free agency. Though that would be in the Summer of 08 if he chooses to opt out. I'm not sure if the lakers' fan are patient enough for that. What I meant was, let's say KG was available by the Trade Deadline, I say Mitch should throw in any packets not name Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum to get KG period!
