Coach Nellie referred to Duns as "a complete disaster" in a recent interview. We all know Nellie loves to wheel and deal players who don't work in his system, so based off this premise, give me your best Dunleavy trade. Try to be as realistic as possible and take into account whether or not it works financially.
Wait five years until his contract expires. Trade him for capspace. I can't come up with anything sexier, Dunleavy is going to be a warrior for a while.
I am not going to be boring and say the obvious that it will be almost impossible to deal Dunleavy. So after browsing through realgm.com's trade checker. This is the best, well actually the first one that I could come up with, that might possibly be able to work: Golden State Trade Breakdown Outgoing Troy Murphy Mike Dunleavy Incoming Quentin Richardson Jerome James I think Murphy would look good with New York playing next to Eddie Curry. That would be a desireable duo in the frontcourt for the Knicks. Quentin Richardson brings the Warriors a shooter and someone used to playing an uptempo game after playing with Nash and the Suns. Jerome James is just another big body to replace Murphy not as a starter but to back up Ike and Andris. Also the Warriors get rid of Dunleavy in this deal... Baron/JRich/QRich(or Pietrus?)/Ike/Andris
I thought I would take just about anything to get rid of Dun but now, thinking about having Jerome James in his spot, I'm not so sure. Dunleavy is a complete waste of money but so is James and I actually think Dunleavy can contribute more. I also think we could get more for Murphy than Q. I wonder if there was ever any truth to those Dunleavy + something (Zarko maybe) to the Clippers for Maggette rumors. I always thought that could have been a good deal.
How about this? Golden State Trade Breakdown Outgoing Mike Dunleavy 6-8 SF from Duke 11.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.9 apg in 31.9 minutes Zarko Cabarkapa 6-11 PF from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign) 3.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 8.4 minutes Keith McLeod 6-2 PG from Bowling Green 5.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.3 apg in 18.6 minutes Incoming Marko Jaric 6-7 SG from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign) 7.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.9 apg in 28.1 minutes Trenton Hassell 6-5 SG from Austin Peay 9.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.6 apg in 32.7 minutes Change in team outlook: -3.4 ppg, -2.1 rpg, and +1.0 apg. Minnesota Trade Breakdown Outgoing Marko Jaric 6-7 SG from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign) 7.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.9 apg in 28.1 minutes Trenton Hassell 6-5 SG from Austin Peay 9.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.6 apg in 32.7 minutes Incoming Mike Dunleavy 6-8 SF from Duke 11.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.9 apg in 31.9 minutes Zarko Cabarkapa 6-11 PF from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign) 3.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 8.4 minutes Keith McLeod 6-2 PG from Bowling Green 5.6 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 2.3 apg in 18.6 minutes Change in team outlook: +3.4 ppg, +2.1 rpg, and -1.0 apg. We get a defender and 3 pt shooter, also a backup combo guard so Monta doesn't have to handle the ball as much. Minny gets 2 expiring contracts and, coming off the bench, Dun might not be too bad next to KG
For some reason I like all possibilites... Man I didn't even get a chance to respond to some other posts that I'd like to, but I'd like to come up with my own scenario next time I get the chance. Maybe the best option is to pair Dunleavy up with a team that already has a fast athletic scoring guard and a big man inside. Spurs??? What about something with the Clippers? I'll take the worst guy on the clippers for him if it is contract friendly to us.

However if we can get Maggette, then I'm all for it. Imagine: Baron J-Rich Maggette Diogu Biedrins That would be quite an athletic 5 thats not charmin soft like Murph+Dunleavy
Turning Dunleavy into Maggette would be ideal but not that likely IMO. We'd probably have to trade him for a Kenyon Martin or Darius Miles type of player.
