What happened in the first half? I was studying for a test. I caught the 2nd half however. Warriors escaped with a win! 2 notes. Where was Dunleavy? And how many times did Jrich air ball? Diogu did not play, thats too bad. Beans looked good. Overall, I am suprised we won because Dallas is a great team and we have played so badly. This could be the turnaround... Why does Murph always come out to play against the elite PFs in the NBA?
That was an exciting game. Nelly was smart by not letting Dunleavy playing that much because he was getting beat all the time. Murphy..man he did good and i think the warriors got a set play for their halfcourt came. In the first quarter we were struggling to keep up but by halftime we cut the lead down by two! The lineup of pietrus, monta, baron, j-rich, and murphy was on point!
Ok, they had a good game finally. Great all around effort. It won't be like this every night, but it's encouraging to see this team play cohesively. As Ike sat the entire game and Dun played limited mins (deservedly so), I expect them to get an opportunity tomorrow. Baron played the entire game and Monta had heavy minutes, so I would expect a lot of minutes from Dunleavy tomorrow against the Hornets. It would be nice to see Roberson have a break-out game too...we'll need the guys who didn't play tonight to step it up tomorrow. Biedrins rocked! I think he should shoot FT's underhand though...watching him shoot is torture.
I liked that Nellie benched Dunleavy. I love the guy but you gotta produce to play, earn your damn minutes. Biedrins was huge, got the Warriors extra possessions all night long. I'm still iffy when it comes to Pietrus. The guy brings D and is athletic as hell but consistently is making stupid mistakes. How do you miss a wide open layup like that? Luckily Biedrins got him 2 extra possessions to get him that dunk. Hell of a win tonight, almost blew it but I'll take a W in Dallas anyday of the week.

Great game from the Warriors tonight. They forced Dallas to take jumpshots, ran, got good production from JR, Murphy, and Pietrus, and they got lucky with Howard getting injured, Avery being ejected, and Terry being ejected. I liked how we got into the bonus early and hit FTs. Baron was pretty good overall tonight, very dominant when he got into the inside but started taking more outside shots toward the end of the game. J-Rich had an encouraging game with 22/7 and 7/8 FTs. Murphy was very hot early and played pretty well overall. Biedrins and Monta were great today bringing the team hustle, scrappiness, and heart. Monta is just a stud making those 2 FTs after being hit in mid air then stealing the ball the following possession. Biedrins is looking great so far this season, I can't see anyone taking his starting job from him. Hes clearing the glass, getting more possessions on the offensive side of the ball, protecting the rim, finishing inside, and most importantly keeping his foul situation under control.

I think it's obvious who I'm talking about.
Very good win. Davis looked pretty good, Richardson is getting better, Pietrus was a factor, Murphy was on fire, and Biedrins is long and probably one of the quickest 7 footer in the league. Also, Monta gut out from the flagrant foul, and Dunelavy project is quickly over after 3 games. And, for sokme reason, Dallas is just a good match against us. Not exactly a picture perfect ending, but I will take any type of road win...
Wow Dallas is 0-3... But again, I didn't get to see this game. But some interesting stats from the box score that I found is Troy Murphy getting 4 assists. When was the last time that has happened? Has Murphy ever gotten 4 assists in a game? Actually it looks like it is the second time this season he has gotten four assists. Maybe it happens more than I first thought or maybe it is a starting trend. Pietrus got another block shot. Andris picked up three blocks and a steal. Nelson decided to throw out only eight players tonight. I suppose he is getting a much better feel for these players - very quickly so, as well. Is there a better night to shoot 80.6% from the FT line, a huge improvement for this team? And Dallas is 0-3 after facing San Antonio, Houston, and Golden State.
3 of Dallas' last 6 regular season home losses are to the Warriors, how cool is that? pwned! Too bad Ike didn't play at all. Pietrus didn't do anything terrible, but I don't think he brought much to the game to justify his minutes, either. Still like him better as 6th man off the bench. There certainly was not much defense on display. Best news of the night is Dun's rapidly evaporating PT.
What is with both J-rich and Baron going to the Iso baseline fadeaways down the stretch. It seemed like they were getting the matchups they wanted. Posting a smaller man. Then kind of Dunelavy'd it. In other words went away from contact. For poor shots and/or air balls. Yeah, it looks like Jason is finally getting his legs back, though i hope someone else can pick up his slack tomorrow night. I think the telling stats are we shot 80% from the free throw line as team . 43% from 3 point land. And we rebounded well as a team. Despite that melt down at the end almost blowing that ten point lead, a great game from all. Ellis stepping up and dropping those two free throws after the flagrant foul was clutch. I agree it was nice to see Nellie make a stand and bench Dunleavy if isnt earning it.

This kid is going to be a leader of this team and an All Star in the next year or two...
It was agreat game but they almost gave the game away at the end. A win is a win but they had me nervous all the way to the end. The Warriors got to learn how to close out a game, hopefully Nelly will help them in that respect. Hope that the Warriors have a great game against the Hornets.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting boogielew:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the telling stats are we shot 80% from the free throw line as team </div> Free throw shooting is the Warriors achilles heal so far this season. They have no problem getting the charity stripe, but now they just need to continue to make teams pay for fouling them. The Warriors still aren't good enough defensively to have empty trips on offense. Great win for the team's confidence, and I'm sure Warrior fans are getting excited by the presence Biedrins is becoming in the middle.

Thank god he fell to us in the draft
Like shapecity mentioned, it's all in the %'s. We play decently from the line tonight, that helps our overall point production that much. We sure can't depend much on defense. Perimeter guys get burned or outmuscled too much and we only have one decent shotblocker now that Foyle is no longer playing much. Ike is decent as well, but he has to gather both feet and jump a lot in order to do it unlike POB or Biedrins. I'm rooting for Dunleavy to stay benched because it seems like him being paired up with Murphy, doesn't protect Murphy like Foyle or Dampier would. I'm also for putting in guards to create with the ball because Jason Richardson just plain loses it sometimes when trying to do anything with the ball on his own. I think it's one of the reasons he actually did well under Montgomery because of his ability to create without the ball. He just didn't need to be a decision-maker or guy who can break defenses down. The shooting guard should be a little bit like point guard in passing, shooting, dribbling, on-ball defense, etc. Read any basketball book and that's what that position should do or else the point guard doesn't have much help when he's pressured. Shooting gaurd = secondary point guard. Can't make Dunleavy do it if he keeps sucking at any starting position we play him at.
