Good to see Hayes put together a good game tonight. He struggled with fouls and turnoves the last couple games.

Lots of TOs called tonight and there were supposed to be calls that the Grizzlies got away. We haven't seen the Rockets at their best yet. They have lots of thing to improve especially on ball movement to reduced their TOs. Good thing the Grizzlies were'nt hot in the 4th quarter tonight. A nice win by the Rockets. Hayes and Memphis fans favorite Battier had a good game.

Hayes seemed to play well, getting a double double, couple of blocks, etc and good FG%.

    Dahntay Jones' Dunk was explosive.

One thing i fond was Battier hasn't been playing well in the second half..especially in the 4th quarters of games. This could be because he's playing too much. ANd i still hate rafer..his passes are so fast and inaccurate that they become a bad pass for the spot up shooter and lead to missed shots. For any1 who's a shooter out there..they know that you need good momentum from the pass to let off a good shot!

What do you expect from Rafer Alston? For a $3.7 million PG he brings more than enough to the table.

Like that article that the chronicle released recently on Rafer Alston said...handling the ball, passing, and being able to knock down the open jumper is all we need from Rafer, and he passes in all of them.

Jesus Christ! That dunk Dahntay Jones thew down in front of Yao was MASSIVE! I think that was much better than LeBrons one over Tim Duncan.

The difference wsa Yao hardly contested the dunk. LeBron had to actually dunk over Duncan.

Yao knew it would have looked bad for him if he tried to contest it, so he kind of just avoided it. Smart move, because I think he was a little to far under the basket to stop it.

Man Durvasa was right. Hayes is actually better than Howard. I think Rock4Life got proved wrong. Hayes>>>>>Howard

One game, or even a handful of games, doesn't prove anything. Hayes is getting an opportunity to play now against the opposing starters, and so far (overall) he's done a pretty good job. He needs to quit fouling so much, and he needs to learn to play within his limits on offense (which he did against Memphis).

I think we'll have a better idea of where Hayes stands after a few months.

A couple stats I like to track (you can look at them on the Rockets Stats Thread) are +/- for players each game. I don't put a lot of weight on individual +/- numbers in a given game, but if a player consistently has a strong +/- then that suggests he's doing good things or he's being used in a smart way by the coach. Check them out. Both Hayes and Battier have done very well by this measure. Interestingly, Snyder does not do well so far.

As C.Hayes plays more minutes he has to earn the respect of the refs because he is young and plays physical. I think he will be able to settle in at starting PF. He had a good game in between all Memphis' athletes.

Tracy is attacking more and with his shot inconssistant I'll take that from him, plus he is passing the ball well.
Turnovers are still hurting and any good team will kill the Rockets with that many.

    IN Battier We Trust
R.Gay's potential causes him to play like a superstar, just from my own personal observations. Theres a lot that goes along with that.
Battier is great because he is all hustle with decent skills and uses his smarts.
Usually the only guys that can point blank outplay Battier are the guys with superior genetics, the stars nobody can stop anyway but he'll try every play.

I still think J.Howard has an important role on this team.

Watching S.Swift throw up some of those
super ugly only he and nobody else can make look so bad shots
make bad fouls and getting 2 rebounds, I'd do the R.Gay trade twice to get rid of Stro.

Mike Miller looks like this ugly girl I went to school with back in the day.

Hayes isn't going to play like this every night and I see him logging < 20 mins in a lot of games where the matchup favors a shooting PF like Novak/Padgett or Howard.

Anyone know what happened to Bonzi. He didn't play against Memphis and hasn't played in Milwakee yet.

Now I believe that Hayes is doing much better than Howard would have in the starting lineup. Yeah, it has only been 4 games, but I like those 4 games Hayes have played. The guy is a hustler and a heck of a player. I believe he will be great by the end of the year.
