imagine if rutgers wins the national title. and the nets win the nba finals that would be so great Go Rutgets Go Nets!
Can someone who is a Nets fan explain to me exactly how Nets will be better this year despite the fact that there core players are exactly the same? You don't honestly think the Nets lost in the playoffs last year because they had a not-very-good bench, do you? Or do you? I just feel like they need to make a trade to be a legit contender - - they need an interior defense of some kind, even if they have to get rid of one of their offensive options to get that presence

We have a much improved bench. Vince Carter has to play for a contract so he will have a career year.

Nenad Krstic - has he really gotten that much better? He seems to have the same game as this time last year. He does have more playoff experience I guess. And the Vince Carter reason - well, he put up huge points last year - if that's the case you should get VC to put up monster points til the allstar break, then trade him for a couple of utility players.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> You don't honestly think the Nets lost in the playoffs last year because they had a not-very-good bench, do you</div> They had no bench which played a big factor. IMO the only thing stopping the Nets.....is the Nets. if they step on another level and keep playing like that, they will be a powerhouse. Either that or I might be bias.

I hope he leaves you guys and goes straight to Orlando. You guys have already had your chance of winning twice and failed, and Carter is supposed to revive you? For what? You guys don't deserve it. This season will be no different. In fact, you guys won't get past the first round, and this time, it will be Cleveland that takes you out.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You guys have already had your chance of winning twice and failed,</div> You say the Carter is what makes the Nets winners. Yes? umm nets are better bcause last year, the whole bench consisted of cliff robinson, this year along with cliff is an improven wright, an eddit house who can be a factor, an imrpoved and determined nacbar, and also a great rookie in williams, so yes with the nets bench this year they have a shot, because im sure that the nets had the best starting 5 by that web site (dont rmeber but pretty sure) so when you have the best starting 5, and only one bench player its hard to argue that the nets had a chance last year, and last yea is the same as this year. regardless the season is young, maybe the best player on every other eastern confrence team gets hurt and the nets win it, (you never know lol)
<div class="quote_poster">hollagr8 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Nah, just hate the Nets and love Carter.</div> If you hate the Nets so much get you're ass out of our forum we don't need people like you who will bash the Nets at every chance they get.
<font color=""Red"">Agreed but where would Carter be without the Nets?</font> You'll soon see when he goes to Orlando and screws you. What a bs trade, Babcock should be sued by Canada for those actions.

You just have no knowledge of basketball do you? So your saying that Carter, Kenyon and Kittles deserve it more than Kidd? It's kinda funny how Kidd made Dallas, Phoenix and Nets all better teams. Where were you they before he came? He made each of the teams and players winners. That's all I'm gonna say because your just simply bias. Ask any true basketball fan, and they will say Kidd deserves it more than Carter. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Well, you'll always blame Carter and expose his faults, never anything positive, such as: "Oh thank goodness Carter came and rescued us from the bottom feeding East</div> You say enough postive things for the both of us.
lol @ hollagr8's wierd love for VC. I agree with phunDamentalz and Marty Burns. The Nets are not a premier team, but they aren't a mediocre Eastern Conference team, either. They're kind of stuck in limbo, where their strong starting lineup masks their weak bench and frontcourt. You have to be open to the possibility that a team like that may be able to get hot in the playoffs and sneak their way into the later rounds of the playoffs, but it's really a longshot, IMO. I put their ceiling at the 2nd round. I think it's about time that the Nets' management realized that they breaking up the "Big 3" to acquire depth would actually increase their chances to contend. Unfortunately, they missed their chance to cash in big on VC last season.
