    What Chutney said, and Burns.

I think they are like a darkhorse, but probably need the opposing team in the 2nd round to have a key injury to make it past.

I also like Chicago as a darkhorse.

    <div class="quote_poster">hollagr8 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"><font color=""Red"">Agreed but where would Carter be without the Nets?</font>

You'll soon see when he goes to Orlando and screws you. I'll be happy and laughing then.

<font color=""red"">You intend to say that Carter is the engine that keeps the Nets going. When he plays well we win right? So when we lose the blame does not go on Carter. It's the Nets fault when we lose, but when we win it's because of Carter.</font>

You'll lose, more times than not without him.

<font color=""red"">Why does he deserve it? Let's go into details. Does he deserve a ring more than Kidd?</font>

Not that you'll get it. Yes, he is the MAN on this team no matter how you slice it. Kidd was better because of Kenyon and Kittles and now he's better because of Carter, so yes, Carter, Kenyon and Kittles deserve it more than Kidd.
    </div>

You are shooting blanks. As good as Carter may be, Jason Kidd has achieved more than him. And that's a FACT. Seeing that you are able to make posts, I'll assume that you can use the internet to look up facts and stats about Jason Kidd. Vince Carter's addition to the Nets, while welcomed, does not mean the city owes him that much. If anything, Carter owes more than the Nets does. Understand this though, Carter is one of the Nets vital piece, but if your looking for the Nets' franchise player, it's the Hall of Fame bound Jason Kidd. If Carter leaves, the Nets will move on, it's something that every team goes through. Laugh all you want, but reality is, your just pissed off that you don't have him on your team. [IMG]

    For the benefit of Hollagr8.

    Vince Carter's achievements:

    7-time NBA All-Star selection:
    2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006;2002
    2-time All-NBA:
    Second Team: 2001
    Third Team: 2000
    NBA Slam Dunk Champion 2000
    NBA All-Rookie First Team: 1999
NBA Rookie of the Year Award: 1999

    Jason Kidd's achievements:

    7-time NBA All-Star: 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004
    6-time All-NBA:
    First Team: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004
    Second Team: 2003
    8-time All-Defensive Selection:
    First Team: 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006
    Second Team: 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005
NBA co-Rookie of the Year: 1995 (with Grant Hill)
    NBA All-Rookie First Team: 1995
    5-time NBA regular-season leader, assists per game: 1999 (10.8), 2000 (10.1), 2001 (9.8), 2003 (8.9), 2004 (9.2)
    3-time NBA regular-season leader, total assists: 1999 (539), 2001 (753), 2003 (711)
    NBA regular-season leader, total steals: 2002 (175)
NBA All-Star Skills Competition champion: 2003

There's actually more for Kidd, but this should be enough. If you want more facts, just ask any of us here so your comments won't look as dumb as they are. [IMG]

    <div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">lol @ hollagr8's wierd love for VC.

I agree with phunDamentalz and Marty Burns. The Nets are not a premier team, but they aren't a mediocre Eastern Conference team, either. They're kind of stuck in limbo, where their strong starting lineup masks their weak bench and frontcourt. You have to be open to the possibility that a team like that may be able to get hot in the playoffs and sneak their way into the later rounds of the playoffs, but it's really a longshot, IMO. I put their ceiling at the 2nd round. I think it's about time that the Nets' management realized that they breaking up the "Big 3" to acquire depth would actually increase their chances to contend. Unfortunately, they missed their chance to cash in big on VC last season.</div>

Finally, someone with a little sense than you biased AMS_ice and whomever else without intelligence (Kidd). Though you're giving them way too much credit Chutney, they will sneak into the playoffs and get pounded by Cleveland.

Duh, Kidd's been in the league longer. Umm, AMS_ice, how many times do you want to bring up his credentials, I mean, are you carrying his baby or something? I mean, there is a reason to go crazy over Carter and his flash. Kidd, not so much. Also, if you notice, it's never about scoring. How BORING. When you're not as talented like Kidd is, you can only depend on defense. Case in point. BEN WALLACE, BORRRRRRING!!!!!!!! Hold on, co-rookie, we all know that Grant was the real rookie of the year. Kidd must have been getting it on with Stern for that.

Well no. I think you're underestimating how unpredictable and weak the Eastern Conference is. I personally think that their starting lineup has enough firepower to bring them into the playoffs and maybe even into the 2nd round. Kidd, AMS_ice, and most of the other Nets fans feel that they've brought in enough young talent for the bench to sneak a little bit farther. And you obviously feel that VC is the only thing holding this team up and they're going to be blown out in the 1st round. None of these viewpoints can really be proven without a doubt, because, as Burns seemed to be arguing, any team can get hot during the playoffs and surprise everyone. The difference is that Kidd, AMS_ice, and I have provided coherent, reasonable arguments, while you've brought nothing but insults and an unexplainable contempt for the Nets franchise.

Contempt yes. You are smart, on the other hand AMS_ice and Kidd are re-tar-ded.

ARE YOU AN IDIOT??? You are turning this thread to Vince Carter vs. Jason Kidd. You can't compare the two. Kidd has been in the league longer and has more accomplishments. Kidd is a passer and Carter is a scorer. You can not compare the two unless you are look at who is more valuable. Without Kidd the Nets could fall apart and without Carter the Nets will fall apart. Even without Richard Jefferson the Nets will not be as good as they are right now. Like I said before <u>think</u> before you post.

If they don't agree with you, it doesn't make them retarded, it actually makes them look smarter cause they aren't agreeing with someone who has never watched a Nets game in their life.

Hollagr8's problem is that he wants Carter on his team so bad. So what's the next best thing for someone as desperate as he is? It's to resolve to low, childish tactics. You can compare Carter and Kidd all you want and try to divide the Nets fans through your posts. But fact is, both are on the Nets team and both have formed a partership which will bring the Nets further than your dumb ass think. And another fact, Carter is not on your team! [IMG] And why am I always putting up Kidd's credentials? Its for people like you, who doesn't know fact from fiction. [IMG]

Okay, I hate to be the number one Net critic, but I have to admit that that commercial that I just saw with Kidd and Carter was hilarious for NBA Fantasy Sport. The chemistry between those two was fun to watch and kudos to Kidd that he can actually make fun of himself when compared to Nash [IMG]

You know what just dawned on me Chutney. I'm from Toronto and you notice how bad minded these Nets fans are. Notice not one post comes up after I post something funny that Carter and Kidd did, because they're so biased on disliking me now. Hey, I'm a fan of the NBA, so you will notice me posting in other forums other than the Nets, but people like AMS_ice is so one track minded he can't see beyond the Nets. Just an observation.

Well we both live in the same area and probably both saw the commercial during the Raps-Sixers game. They might not have seen it yet. But, I do agree that you've become public enemy number one in the Nets forum.

From my experience, there needs to be two participating sides to create stupid arguments that continue on for over a page.

Look you can't just change sides. You have been dissing the Nets for a while now, so you just expect us to really like you all of a sudden. I don't hate you, but I think you make stupid judgements when you know your losing the discussion.

Anyway, thanks for the compliment. I found that commercial funny as well. The look on Kidd's face was priceless.
