After yesterday's practice, Green won $100 from Brian Scalabrine, who bet the second-year frequent flyer that he couldn't throw the ball high off the end wall, collect it on one bounce, and dunk it, all in one motion. Scalabrine gave Green three tries. Green, to the astonishment of everyone watching, did it on the third try.</div> Source
It sounds to me like he's turning into the next Vince Carter rather than the next Tracy McGrady. More dunks, with less layups. Still, he's fun to watch. He deserves a spot in this year's slam dunk contest.
Well, I know he had planned on being in this years contest, but who knows. The Slam Dunk contest never really interested me too much, especially after last years choice of a winner. But I would love to watch Gerald compete in it. It would be nice for people to be able to see this kid, considering he doesn't play too many minutes in the NBA.
dunk contests is where some players get there names, how many poeple do you think would know jr and josh smith without the dunk contest, also players like desmond mason, dont get me wrong they are all good players but they wouldnt be as know without the dunk contest
Any chance Gerald could get Scal to bet his entire contract? Then we could just give him plane fare and a ham sandwich, and we'd never have to smell his worthless behind again. It'd probably be the last ham sandwich he had the money to eat, no one in the NBA is paying him again. As for Gerald, have fun in the dunk contest, one way or the other, I'd rather see him getting meaningful time in games, especially now that Doc doesn't seem to care about who he throws into games.

But as far as Scal goes are we going to have to break out that "missing person" ad of yours again? !
Looks like that Gerald Green dunk in practice might be the highlight of the season for Nurse Rivers and the Celtics.
