Mike and Mike reported this morning that the reason Joe Montana wasnt announced with the other Super Bowl MVPs before the game was becasue he allegedly refused to cooperate unless the NFL paid him $100,000....its not confirmed, but if thats the case, all the respect I once had for Montana is gone....to refuse to stand with the legends on that field unless you are paid is pure idiocy....and for a guy that made as much money as he did, and still is making money in commercials to ask for money is ridiculous....if this turns out to be true, Montana will feel a backlash....he may think hes bigger than the game, but the truth is, he isnt, the leagues doing just fine without him....hes a memory at best at this point, and memories fade....say it aint so Joe....

The same was said for Terry Bradshaw. They wanted more money. If it is true that brings a bad taste into my mouth. I have too say though. I was proud to be a Packer fan when they announced Bart Starr and at the end when he brought the trophy down that walkway and gave it to the Steelers. I felt pretty proud at that time. I was happy to see Howard as well. Remembering Super Bowl XXXI temporarily erased this past season memories.

Don't they realize the damage done to their rep is far greater than any $ they could make off such an event?

btw I finally figured out why Brady was asked to do the coin toss. He's a former Wolverine! Yeah I'm usually this slow. [IMG]

thats really sad that they wouldnt do it for money lol i would do it for just tickets to the superbowl, i bet the NFL was stunned when Bradshaw and Montana asked for more money

i liked it too when all the Steeler fans were booing Brady and he just started laughing

Is it safe to call Montana a gold digger or does remain just a 49er?

Montana and Bradshaw are denying that they didnt go because there wasn't enough money offered, I would have went for everything they were offered.

Both of them claimed that they wanted to spend time with their family and i think this is a legit excuse for Montana, the guy played for the 49ers but Bradshaw played for the steelers one of the teams in the super bowl and he didnt show i think that is weak

On Quite Frankly Joe said he wants nothing to do with football. What he forgot to add was unless it involves $ with about 6 zeros after it.
