Why does everyone think that LBJ is the next MJ? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baske...i-sportstop-hed 1st: There cant be another MJ, and if there would be one it is not lebron 2nd: Lebron's game isnt even like MJ's 3rd: LBJ is BIGGER thats why its easier for him to score 4th: LBJ mainly drives to the basket to get points, MJ gets JUMPERS which lebron doesnt do There are way more reason why lebron is no mj! the CLOSEST players to MJ (physically, type of game, stats) KOBE, TMAC, Grant Hill (of old) maybe these guys are similar and have games like MJ's but at least they are closer to him than lebron
People mainly talk about lebron being the next mj in a figurative way. Their games and styles are different. MJ to the NBA was not just a player but essentially its mascot, lebron gets the comparisons becuase he is getting alot of press as the next big star to folllow jordan's role for the nba, not necesarilly his gameplay.
I think they are talking about him having the oportunity to dominate the game. Not in the way mike did but in the way he can. that is the similarity I think they are trying to make even tho there isnt any real concrete to even that comparison since lebron hasnt really made a great impact on the game as of yet..
supertalented he may be, leBron just isn't as exciting as MJ. I believe that since MJ there have only been two truly exciting superstars to come into the league - AI and Kobe. There have been great players like KG, Duncan, Garnett etc., but AI and Kobe are the most exciting.

The comparisons are more based on potential as well. LeBron has room to get much, much better then he is, even though he's already arguably the best player in the game. So it's natural to compare what he might become to the greatest wing player ever -- Michael Jordan. It is actually quite possible that LeBron might match or surpass him at some point . Kobe Bryant is more similar to Jordan, as far as style of play. No one will deny that. But it's unlikely he'll improve far beyond what he did last year, and it's much more unlikely that he'll reach a point to where you can say he's as good or better than Jordan.

He wasen't always a jump shooter. He developed the fade away as his go to play later in his career.

And remember MJ came out of University and had more years do develop before coming to the nba. Lebron came straight out of high school which means he had less years do develop before getting to the nba.

If anything, Wade plays like MJ more than anybody. Some people (including myself) just think that LeBron is going to be the star of todays NBA like what MJ was for the NBA back in his era. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">1st: There cant be another MJ, and if there would be one it is not lebron</div> Can someone come along and put up better stats and have more accomplishments than Jordan some day? Possibly. BTW, have you seen LeBron's progress from his 1st season to now? His jumper is way more consistent than what is was in his rookie year.
I was pondering this the other day. I don't blame Lebron, i blame the NBA. They're in desperate need of a face to make $$$ off. Who better than Lebron. Nice clean cut kid who plays hard and has tons of talent. BUT he is still overhyped. If he gets a wide open dunk, you'd swear it was the greatest dunk of all time the way they rewind it and put it in extra slow motion. I seriously HATE when ppl say "Well, he's the best 21yr old ever". What the hell does that mean? Nothin. How could use best ever in a sentence with 21yr old. It's a stupid comment.
<div class="quote_poster">kobe23 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">um no... maybe the same height at LB not taller</div> Sory but T-mac is like 6'9 or 6'10 tim duncan or kg said that. And what does height have to do with being the next jordan kobe is taller than jordan to. Lebron doesn't just drive he has a good jumpshot.
