<div class="quote_poster">Sasha Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wow, a lot of you are not educated on the topic of self medication. It's a little disheartening to see some of you so confused, and scared, and others so negative about it. I think it has a lot to do with the information you take in, your D.A.R.E. classes in elementary school, your churches, and most of all the television set you so blatantly stare into for countless hours, but all that is for another thread and another time. Drugs, in essence are mind openers, they are tools for self-exploration to which we should be thankful and appreciative of. I myself am a "user" of many a drugs, most notably LSD, and DMT. Due to them, I have gained a new perspective on life, I have become a more open, patient, caring, and egoless individual. That's not to say drugs are not harmless, they very much are. It is however, the way you approach them that sets your reasoning between them. People need to be informed of such a high power that they are about to put into their body. Read, watch, examine, research and you'll find that like many things in life, drugs are one of those hidden treasures that can renew your ability to perceive. "I feel that if somebody's going to experiment with those things they really need to educate themselves about them. People just taking the chemicals and diving in without having any kind of preparation about what they're about to experience tend to have no frame of reference, so they're missing everything flying by and all these new perspectives. It's just a waste. They reach a little bit of spiritual enlightenment, but they end up going, 'Well, now I need that drug to get back there again.' The trick is to use the drugs once to get there, and maybe spend the next ten years trying to get back there without the drug." -- Maynard James Keenan</div> I hate Tool, but I appreciate this post nonetheless. It's all about knowing what you're putting into your body. LSD, psilocybin, and (pure) MDMA all have great therapeutic effects too, and psychiatrists and neurologists should be allowed to provisionally prescribe them. When somebody "f"s up their life and drugs are a factor, you can't blame the drugs. The drugs are a scapegoat for that person's irresponsibility.
My point of view in this discussion is probably more of a median one. I'm neither a person who would necessarily advocate drug use, although i can't speak from experience as to more of the "harder" drugs. All I know is that heavy use of MDMA and other drugs have been proven to cause HOLES in the brain. I am definately not down for having holes in my brain, and so, while i may experiment down the line in my life I, personally, will not allow it go further than that.

Hmm. . Drugs don't do it for me. I'll never touch drugs nor drink alcohol. But to be honest, I can only read this thread and feel curious. But that doesn't change anything. Keep the posts coming -- this is quite interesting. Some of the smartest people I know are complete drug abusers, they have so much knowledge it's fascinating. For those more knowledgeable, care to share what drugs you have used? I hope this isn't inappropriate, this is just for common knowledge. Outside the "big 3" (coke, weed, heroin), I don't know many drugs. Again, I would never TOUCH drugs, but I'd like to learn more.

Since when am I responsible for the people that post on this website? I don't recollect agreeing to those terms when I joined back whenever. Get off your high horse Oprah. Oh, BTW I remember saying something of a cautionary stance as well, so you have no ground to speak... "That's not to say drugs are not harmless, they very much are. I partake in the experimentation of such chemicals, because it's beneficial to me as I already stated in my post. My posts are a reflection of my opinion. I consult it any time I have ever done a drug for the first time or just to check things out. And MDMA has been mentioned in this thread, easily the best feeling I have ever felt. Ever. Although, I try to not do it very often because it is a very very harmful drug. But when I do... wow. Two nights ago I did it at a party with a bunch of friends for the first time in like a year and it was the best night I've had in a long long time. I fell in love with a girl for a night over the phone... i returned to my senses in the morning but you know a drug is good if you fall in love under it.

MDMA does not cause "holes in your brain." As a student of medicine, I am disgusted at some of these ignorant responses. Anyway, on december 30 to jan 3rd im going to Falls festival, there is a huge amount of muscisions, from hip hop to rock to roots and reggae, im getting 12grams of ganja for 100 bucks, we wont smoke all of it cause im also going to the "big day out" festival and i want to save a couple grams for that, oh and im not paying for any of it! its my birthday present from all my friends that are going with me, my birthday is jan 1st, i cant wait.
