Guys, I don't know what to say, but when I take a look at our Raptors, I tend to think that there's not much we can be too happy about. I've been a raptor fan since the beginning of the raptors existence, but even though we have the best GM and the most responsible all-star, I feel that we are always at the losing end of the spectrum. I know it's the beginning of the season, but after that Atlanta game, should we really be excited about this team? Thoughts?
Yes we should be excited....its the 5th game of the year, chill out. You made zero points...GREAT POST!
Sam Mitchell is a ridiculous coach. I've never been that critical of him but I believe now after these five games that we'll never win with him around.
its hard being a raptor fan, no sh*t. we have been in the playoffs 3 times in 11 years- mighty mouse walked out on us, canada was too cold for tmac and vince thinks new jersey is better than toronto

Or the Hawks. Compared to what it used to be, our situation is a hell of a lot better now, though. I was willing to give Sam Mitchell some leeway last year, because he was young, showing some improvement, and a great motivator. But, I can't really make excuses for the dude anymore. He's just not head coaching material. I want Rick Adelman.
Meh .. it's not that hard being us anymore. We have a great GM and an assistant GM that everyone respects. Also, a #1 pick with tons of potential we just need to be patient. In terms of Mitchell though he doesn't fit in the above category, he's extremely fustrating.

Mitchell just hasn't shown the capability to run a consistent offence and defence. Sometimes I wonder what he uses that clipboard for during timeouts. I'd rather have him in an assistant role, that way his motivational skills could be put to better use.

Dude, its only been 5 games. Regardless of that you can't possibly say that we havn't improved.
It's not Sam Mitchell's fault. It's the management's fault for bringing in all these international players and Mitchell is just not a good fit for this team. Jerry Calengelo better get a Euro coach if he wants any kind of success with this team.

All this losing can definitely get to you but hopefully, this will make our success (when the time comes) even more sweet. I've noticed I'm getting increasingly frustrated/impatient when I'm watching the Raps play. The Raps haven't looked good at all this season. One good game out of five.
Maybe a european coach would fit more with our team but the shortcomings Mitchell is having and our players are two seperate issues. Our European roster isn't preventing Mitchell from drawing up a set play or coming up with a defensive scheme that actually works.
