I was looking at some of the old shows I used to watch and I was wondering. Do any of you think TV is better now, or was it much better back in the 90s?

I think it was alot better back in the 90s..there was just so many more shows you could sit down, watch and enjoy IMO. Today I don't really watch anything outside of Sports, Wrestling, and sitcoms(Mainly Fresh Prince and Wayans Bros.).

    What about you guys?

Not to mention in the 90's you had shows like Seinfeld and Simpsons at the height of their success. I'll have to go with 90's TV.

Let's see: Fresh Prince, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Friends, News Radio (underrated show imo) compared to a bunch of Reality TV crap....

I'm exaggerating a tad, but I still think the 90's wins.

Plus, you didn't have to order specialty channels to get the good shows. Everything was on cable.

But now you have shows like 24 and Prision Break. TV is the same now as it was in the 90's. TBH, I can't really compare the programmes I watched in the 90's to the programmes now. You tend to watch different show's as you grow older, and now, I don't watch much TV apart from around 10 shows.

Too much reality TV now, but the "serious" shows, like Lost etc. are better (were there even shows like that then?). Back in the days, the comedies were better, and there was not as much crap on TV back then.

I prefer being this age. Now I can officially watch films in the cinema that have "sexy time." Not that I would actually pay to watch such movies though.

I'd have to say the 90s.

    Simpsons, Seinfeld, South Park.

and most importantly NO REALITY TV, No Idol, No Big Brother, No survivor, No wife swap, No Osbournes.

Not many worthwhile shows on these days - Scrubs, 24, South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy, Law and Order

it was better in the 90s...companies are too worried about selling advertisment and ratings now and days..shows cant go more than 5 episodes without being a hit or blunder...u can never give a show a chance to get going..its all first impression now..example..family guy- got 2 seasons..was funny as hell but ratings werent too good and was shown at 930 on tuesdays

There may be alot of good shows on TV today, but like metioned before you had shows like Simpsons, Seinfeld, Boy Meets World, Fresh Prince, all at their best. Today there`s just too much reality crap no matter what channel you turn too.
