ok we all know the officials this year were awful... What is to be done? opinions please...Hawk feel free to express thyself...
Hopefully, The NFL doesn't digress into a NBA like quagmire of phantom calls where super stars get away w/ murder - not literally of course. With the game as big as it is, they need to let 'em play as much as possible. M. Irvin was right that the intereference on Jackson was ticky tack. Both DJ & the DB were trading shoves. I am not & may never be satisified about B-roth's TD run. This IMO is even more questionable then the home run throw back used by Tennessee to beat the bills a few years ago. The illegal motion on Alexander infuriates me the most. IMO, it was just plain petty & unnecessary.

1. Full Time Officials....can you really expect a guy that works 40 hours a week to show up on Sunday and be the best prepared official? it cant be a part-time job, its too important and there is too much money involved.... 2. 1 more official, in a private press box, whose responisbility is to view the replay upon a challenge and make a determination on what the call should be. Do away with the term undisputable evidence....he looks at the replay and makes the call....in fact, he should get no audio and have no knowledge of what the call on the field was, he just gets video of the play from as many angles as possible and makes the call 3. 3 coaches challenges per game...if you are right, you retain it....if you are wrong, you lose it, but not a timeout.....there shouldnt be a penalty for challenging a call, even if your wrong Give me those things, and Ill give you much better officiating....
You still should only get two chellenges, and Beef is right, there should be no penalties. in order to have a perfectly fair game. Refs should be allowed to challenge without the fear of losing TO's At this stage you have to be 80% sure of it being overturned before you will throw a flag.
They could easily become f/t officials. In the summer they can work the NFL Europe games. I think 2 challenges is enough, but they should definitely not lose a challenge if the call gets over turned. We don't want to slow the game down.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cowher&Frown Co.)</div><div class='quotemain'>i think DDs idea the best...</div> I don't remember submitting one, but your right, my ideas generally are the best. I agree with Beef that there should be one extra official in a booth and his job should be reviewing the replay evidence. However, I would ditch the coaches challange and have that official stop play when there is a call that needs to be reviewed. I hate the idea of coaches having to risk timeouts in order to do the officials job for them.
Beefs idea sounds similar to colleges. I also like that idea. The NFL needs to do something because this year there were too many bad calls that'll be remembered.
First TELL THE REFS TO NOT BLOW WHISTLES AS EARLY AS THEY DO, i am tired of seeing teams get off lucky because of the jumpy Refs, Second, i agree w/ Beef with that 3rd official guy.

I'll make it unanimous among the Dwo. I agree Dale's ideas usually are the best right after I let him know what they are! Woooooooooo!
