I've been saying it all along since training camp, Smush is garbage...he needs to get dropped to the D-League...he plays no defense and just wants to shoot the ball. He pisses me off. I was watching the game against the Pistons. They Lakers come in offense, Kobe the faciliator passes the ball to Smush (First Pass in the Offensive Sequence) Smush jacks up the three and bricks horribly. This is why Kobe is not even getting his shots. I know everyone wants a balance offense...but I think balance refers to scoring from the inside and outside not just outside. Remove Smush fromt he starting role and give it to Sasha ro Farmar. I think Smush will be better off coming off the bench. This guys is just lazy.
Shape you know that Mckie is not much better than smush you just lost your credibility... Its been less than 10 games even the best players go through shooting slumps his defense was still good he stole the ball a couple of times and his size and speed are effective against bigger guards.

You can't rate defense by steals per game. Sure, it's good if Smush can average 3 steals per game, but that doesn't judge how well he is defending the opponent. Smush gambles like crazy, and it would be a mystery to me if he doesn't at least get a couple of steals with all that gambling. Every steal he gets, he gives up 10 points. To be completely honest with you, if McKie was healthy, I would give him a run at the point guard spot. McKe is a veteran, and although he may not be a flashy player, I am completely confident that he will at least not give up as many stupid, boneheaded turnovers as Smush. On defense, McKie can't be any worse. Sure, he may not rack up that many steals, but I'm sure McKie will at least put up an effort to defend his opponent, unlike Smush. ''Its been less than 10 games even the best players go through shooting slumps''. True, but Smush has never been a good shooter to begin with. Plus, he is shooting 50% from the line (and I'll mention this again), has a worse free-throw percentage than Ben Wallace. That is completely unacceptable for a point guard, much less a starting point guard. As you can see, I am very disappointed with Mr. Smush Parker. The guy just doesn't care. He seems bored on the court and doesn't even try to play defense. He plays with 0 effort and 0 heart. The guy is flat out horrible. He has definitely regressed from last season

He hasn't defended anyone at all, really ever since coming into the league. I remember watching the Suns/Lakers series last year and just screaming at the TV every time Smush gave up a layup to Nash, which, mind you was very often. This year hasn't been any better. Every time he's gone against a quicker guard, he gets burned. He's terrible on defense. Just cause he gets a couple of steals doesn't mean he's a good defender, it just means he takes a gamble in the passing lane and it pays off, and that's really the only way he gets steals. His man defense is pathetic, so that's not it. Beyond that, his offense is pretty awful. He's got a decent jumper...but that's only when he's on. If he's off, like he has been all season, he's awful. He can't make a FT either. There is no real legitimate reason to keep him starting anymore. The only reason he got it last year was by default. The only reason he has it this year is cause Sasha hasn't shown the ability to shoot in a game and because Farmar is a rookie and Phil has always shown reluctancy in playing rookies. Unless Smush steps it up in the next few games, which I doubt he'll do, he should most definitely get benched. Oh, and by the way, noting one of your comments earlier, there isn't a team in the NBA that he'd be starting. Outside of the Lakers, he's no better than a 2nd stringer, and in some places a 3rd stringer, wherever he goes.
^^^ How about Cleveland, Snow is pretty old. Damon Jones is just a 3pt shooter and when he is cold he isn't very valuable on the court. Maybe Phili over Kevin Ollie Milwaukee over Mo Williams? (might be a stretch)

Damon Jones, while he may be streaky, is still a better shooter than Smush. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Maybe Phili over Kevin Ollie</div>The only reason he's really starting is cause they don't want AI running the offense again this year and I'm relatively sure they want Korver off the bench to add some firepower off a relatively weak bench. If they wanted to though, they have Iverson who is more than capable to play the point. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Milwaukee over Mo Williams? As to the comment on "he'd never start for any team", what about Indiana or Portland? I still have faith in Smush. In a recent article shape posted he knows he is playing sub par and is willing to put major hours in th gym to get his game up to speed.

Portland has Jarret Jack

Keep in mind, Mo Williams strong play was a major factor in the Bucks choosing to trade TJ Ford. Kevin Ollie is one player he might start over, but Ollie is in the game for defense. I can't imagine Smush co-existing in the same backcourt as AI. <div class="quote_poster">Franchise4Ever Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">As to the comment on "he'd never start for any team", what about Indiana or Portland? Higher basketball IQ than Smush, and understands how to manage an offense. I actually wanted the Lakers to draft Jack the year he declared. I was hoping that deal for Jonathan Bender went down so the Lakers could have a mid-round pick for Jack. Indiana has 4 capable PGs already and Smush isn't better than any of them. If we could trade Smush straight up for Darrell Armstrong it would be an immediate upgrade. bruin007 - I know McKie is on his last legs, but that's how far the drop off has been for Smush this season. In preseason he was shooting well from behind the arc, but he's abandoned his offensive game since the regular season started and has been a debacle on the court. At least we know McKie isn't going to come in jack shots up within the first 3 seconds after the ball crosses the halfcourt line.

His offensive game is better and he's one of the best and most underrated passers in the league. For that matter, he's one of the best PGs in the league when he's healthy. Tinsley = underrated. Also, Jasikevicus is better than Smush, and he's another PG on the Pacers. Just thought I'd throw that one out there. As for Jack, at least he knows how to manage a game. He may not have a great offensive game, but he can pass and knows to manage a game like a veteran point guard. Smush can't shoot very well right now or manage a game.
I agree whit shapecity 100% smush parker cannot be a starting pg in the entire league even whit the bobcats. he gets beat by everybody in the pg position and sometimes i dont like his attitude,if he dont start to play well and consistant, he gonna be playing whit the la defenders not the lakers.<font color=""Red""><font color=""DarkOrange""></font></font>
