I know its a bit too early to decide, but i strongly beleive that colangelo should let Sam Mitchell go now. Offensively, the team is ok. Defensively, we are terrible. We cant expect to win games or make it to the playoffs if our defence isnt upto par. hell no. We need a better coach. A coach that will implement a better defensive strategy. This team has no problem scoring. Larry brown could be a good candidate. Let me know what you guys think. I SAY FIRE MITCHELL NOW, before its too late in the season.
At this point in Larry's career he isn't going to come coach a struggling team. Look how it turned out for him in NY last season. If Brown returns to the coaching ranks it'll be for a contender, not for one of the worst teams in basketball.
<div class="quote_poster">Gotrunks226 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Brown?? Isn't he a Half court offense type coach?</div> Very much so. Either way, I don't see Brown as a good fit because of the youth of the Raptors. If Larry were to come back into coaching my guess would be that it would be for a team that's already contending with proven vets in the lineup. Bosh, Ford, Parker, Calderon, Graham, and Bargnani are all fairly new to the league...
This thread is nonsensical. New raptors players: TJ. Ford, Fred Jones, Anthony Parker, Rasho Nesterovic, Jorge Garbajosa, Andrea Bargnani, Kris Humphires, PJ. Tucker. By my account that is 8 players who have played minutes who weren't on the team lastyear. It takes time to get some cohesion. Furthermore we are tied for first in Team FGA at 87.2 a game. However our problem is we are only hitting on 43% of our attempts good for 24th in the league - - I think as players get used to each other we will see our FG% rise and our scoring increase. This team was not built around defense - everyone knows this. If we are going to make the playoffs this year we are going to have to outscore teams.
