Given, Mopete hasn't exactly been a champ so far this year, but this is just pure Mitchell playing pressing the panic button. I handle my coaching duties in NBA live 06 with more thought than this...
It could get ugly out there with Ford and Jones playing extended minutes together. I personally would've demoted Ford and started Calderon.
peculiar move since mo pete was the only shooter in the starting lineup. i'm imagining nights where bosh is going to be triple teamed as a consequence and no shooters to throw it out to.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The coach said he's trying to reverse the team's slow-starting ways, and give their defence a chance to kick-start their offence.</div> The only way that is ever going to happen is if he quits.
Mo Pete has been playing a little like the Mo Pete of a few years ago which is a bad thing, but I don't think that demoting him will do any good. Using their defence to start their offence? What the hell? Mo Pete is probably one of the better defenders on the team and putting an undersized two guard isn't going to be an upgrade at all. Mitchell for COY.
I think it might be good, Fred Jones is a quicker SG and might give us some quickness that Mo Pete can't bring. Especially if we are trying to be a fast break team.
Not the best move in the world in my opinion. Mo Pete is the best shooter on the team, and without him threatening out there, it's going to be tough for Bosh down on the inside. Also, what has Peterson done that is so horrible to be demoted? Looking at his stats, the only negative is he's only shooting 41% from the floor, but that's easily repaired, especially since it's still so early. He's making 38% of his treys as well, which is a pretty damn good percentage.
