He admitted on Letterman last night they he did not think got in. The honesty is refreshing but the timing and attempt at nobility is nothing more than a way to keep the controversy brewing. It was stated that The Steelers would've made it on 4th down. To which I say, How do you know; Cowher is conservative by nature?
the call was made and it really its all over now...we won...not in the fashion i liked but its too late now...
Yeah does it really matter. All it does is let Seattle fans complain more. I didn't think he got in and I'm sure half the US doesn't either. It's done with though.
even if he didnt get in the offical made a call that like 80% in his shoes would have made...and there was no convinceing evidence to overturn it...
yes, the rule states that is must be undisputeable evidence to overturn it and from the replay, it was 50/50 on whether he got in. not exactly what i call undisputable evidence
Yea but when u watch it again the ref came over as ben was on the ground and was signaling that it was short until ben pulled it from under him andstreached which was when the ref signaled td. Either wayseahawks got cheated out of a superbowl good job stealers.
The Seahawks weren't cheated out of a SB, they lost it for themselves. There is way too much bitching and moaning going on over this SB and way too many excuses being made for the Seahawks not getting it done. I say let the Steelers enjoy their SB win in peace, they earned it.

When it's that close, I'm not sure how a player would know either way if the ball crossed the goal line. So IT DOESN'T MATTER. As far as the Seahawks getting a Championship Stolen from them, everyone that knows football, knows that that is just crap. Great teams overcome great odds to become Champions. The Steelers overcame all of the odds this season and earned the XL trophy. Taking that away and belittling the season that they had is just in poor taste.... period.

Everyone keeps talking about how bad the Steelers should feel, but how bad should Seahawks fans feel that their defense couldn't keep Roethlisberger from getting the football THAT close to the goalline.

That play was amazing on Big Bens part but just plain horrible on Seattle's part. I'm talking about the 3rd adn 28 play. Seattle stops them there. Pittsburgh attempts a long field goal or punts and in all likely hood Seattle goes in up 3-0. Just one more thing Seattle did to themselves not the refs.
If the ref had called the TD short, the replay would have upheld it as short. Since he called it a TD, it stayed a TD. There was no INDISPUTABLE evidence either way. Whatever the call ended up on the field, that's how it was going to stay. Why people keep mentioning this particular play is beyond me, anyway. The pass interference penalty and the phantom holding call were far more costly and egregious errors on the part of the officials.
There were no phantom holding calls. And you are not allowed to use your hands to create separation on offense or defense. What's the problem here?
No need to get upset. The trophy's sitting in Pittsburgh. The final score is all that matters ultimately.
You're right and I'm not. Watched the pass interference again. If you watch the play again, notice that Chris Hope actually hops backwards from being pushed. Gave me a little clearer perspective on it.
