Up 60-42 at the half - perhaps this season is not going to be as bad as a 1-4 start seemed to indicate.

With Portland, New Orleans and Utah making good starts, the West is ridiculously strong in these early stages.

96-80 after three, Luke giving Mr Kidd a bit of a basketball lesson here.

He came back especially for this game, just as a show of arrogance.

Great execution from Luke and Watson from what I've seen at the first half. Chris Wilcox is doing well also.

I thought VC was covering Allen?

I don't think anyone covered VC.

Kidd must've read this thread in the break anyway, but we still got the win. Luke with a career-high 32 and four players with 20+. Nice way to overcome a short rotation.

Carter was holding Lewis. It's confusing, but most of the time in the 4th quarter Kidd was holding Allen.

Actually, why does it matter? Nets still lost....

They were just on fire in the first half. It was raining boos in New Jersey.

First time since the 95/96 season that we've had four players score 20+ in the same game.

Great way to finish the road trip. You do not see teams at the end of road trips play with that much energy. We were two buzzer beaters away from going 5-0 on this trip. I like the way Bob Hill has been rotating the bigs -- giving the majority of the minutes to Wilcox and Collison. I don't know why Danny was inactive but there was a good chemistry with Wilcox, Petro, and Collison.

We have faired well against small teams and that was our achilles heal in 04-05. Barring injury I think that we can make a push into the postseason, if we are able to maintain our conditioning throughout the season.

It is a good time to be a Sonic fan again -- at least it has been since last Friday. Outstanding job by Luke Ridnour as well

How much of Luke's work with the pick and roll would you credit to Chiesa?

A good amount. Chiesa is supposed to be great with working with guards and I imagine that he has helped Ridnour assess how to be aggressive offensively without looking off open players. That was the best I've ever seen Ridnour play last night.

But to be honest, I credit his success more to Clay Bennett who was willing to offer him 6.5 million dollars of guaranteed money before he was a restricted free agent. Financial security can do a lot in terms of making players feel more relaxed. If he was looking over his shoulder for Earl Watson and he would be a pending free agent it might have been much more difficult for him to focus squarely on basketball.

Whomever is counseling Ridnour is doing a good job. The kid has been playing well.
