Would that mean anything? or would it just be another game in history? Our team's defense against SGs should be better this year. Last year: Well last year we barely double teamed Kobe. Mo Pete got into foul trouble (Kobe did a good job of doing that) Calderon, Mike James, and Bonner covered him. This year: -Kobe might not be completely healthy yet. -We have Fred Jones, Anthony Parker, PJ Tucker who are quicker than Bonner, and more natural SGs than Calderon. - and Mo Pete too Who is Joey Graham going to truck on Friday?
Well its only happened once in the countless ammount of times Kobe has played the Raptors, so I wouldnt be concerned about him dropping 80+ on you again.

We must not let our guard down.
If he does, he'll probably give up 20+ turnovers along with it. He's still Kobe, but not in the same shape he was at the time he embarrassed us last year.
Add to the fact that he's taking a lot less shots per game this season as well. Seems like he's trying to play a more team oriented game after last year's playoffs.
Kobe's in NO shape to go for 81 at this point of time. He's not even close to being in basketball shape, and not to mention his conditioning is not where he wants it to be. Scoring 81 points requires a lot of determination, endurance and skill. Kobe doesnt not have any of those to the level he needs it to score at will because #1 he doesn't have to score 40+ to win for the Lakers anymore #2 he's not ready to play 40+ minutes on a recently rehabilitated knee and #3 Kobe still cannot score at will like he used to last year. Remember, when Kobe scored 81 in January, he was argueably in his best scoring spree stretch of the entire season.
At this point, is Kobe still a threat for going off for 50? 40? I want to see how Bynum plays against the Raps, I have a feeling he will do well considering our bigs.

Quote:

Calderon, Mike James, and Bonner covered him.
I still find it very funny that any coach in his right mind could've done this. Even in bad shape, with our defense if he really wanted to he could drop 50 on us.
