After another loss in Golden State, i am burning up here and I want to vent. Here is what I think of the raptors, player by player. Rasho Nesterovic - C Strengths: Has done a decent job defending other centers and helping bosh clear the defensive boards. Weaknesses: Can't run with the rest of the team, dosen't have the finish in the open court. Chris Bosh - A Strengths: Solid on O, and seems to have settled down at the stripe. Has become a beast on the boards. Weaknesses: Needs to demand the ball more. We all know he gets doubled but great players need to work through that. Anthony Parker - B- Strengths: Has shown he can defend other 3's, and can hit the jumper. Weaknesses: Has been a bit inconsistent, and sometimes lacks agressiveness. Morris Peterson - C- Strengths: Gives his all on D, and has been decent beyond the arc. Weaknesses: Has taken a step back after carrer year; is showing the Mo of old, being inconsistent. Isn't taking it to the cup at all. TJ Ford - C- Strengths: Lightning quick, gets easy layups and looks for teammates. Weaknesses: Very turnover prone, sometimes runs too recklessly, causing alot of offensive fouls; is a defensive liability. Jose Calderon - B+ Strengths: Is hitting his jumpshots, running well, and finding teammates everywhere. His shot selection is great, keeps his head up and runs the team like a general. Weaknesses: None. You can't ask for anymore from your back up PG. Is outplaying Tj, and should be promoted to starter. Fred Jones - C Strengths: Trys to take it to the rack, agressive on D. Weaknesses: Isn't hitting his 3 balls, taking too many offensive fouls while taking it to the cup. I JUST DON'T LIKE HIM! Joey Graham - D Strengths: Ya ya ya, he had one decent game. Weaknesses: Defensive liability, and that was supposed to be one of his strengths. For some reason, takes a un-nessesary dribble instead of catching and shooting...having trouble finishing when taking it to the hole. Jorge Garbajosa - C+ Strengths: Solid on D, clearing the glass and fighting for loose balls. His shot seemed to be coming around against GS. Finished well around the bucket. Weaknesses: Isn't hitting his 3's but I think he will be one of our better players by the end of the season. Andrea Bargnani - D+ Strengths: Has shown flashes of a good jump shot and ability to finish in the open court. Weaknesses: Is lost on Defence. Gets eaten alive on the defensive glass, and is having trouble finishing in traffic. He isn't the problem and I can live with his growing pains. Kris Humphries - B Strengths: Considering who we traded for him, he should get an A! Is a meat and potatoes player and works hard on the glass and on D. Weaknesses: Is a bull in a china shop, is an offensive foul waiting to happen. Dosen't play enough to be considered a main part of this team. P.J. Tucker - ? Played garbage minutes and I really don't care. I hate Fred Jones and TJ Ford. I would feel more comfortable having Jose running this team, and thats saying alot. We should have worked are ass off getting another 1st rounder on draft day and drafted Marcus Williams and kept Charlie. We don't have a solid second scorer to prevent Bosh getting doubled and even tripled....Any thoughts?
Man, I am so angry right now. I could stand last season more than this, because at least then I knew we weren't wasting talent/potential. CHRIS BOSH: A Strengths: No longer is he one dimensional on offense. He feeds off what the defender gives him and can beat you several different ways. Rebounding with a vengeance out there. Weaknesses: He's regressed even more defensively. His hands are active and he's getting boards, but he lets his opponent establish position, take the baseline, without putting up much of a resistance. JOSE CALDERON: A- Strengths: Still as great a distributor as ever. He gets his teammates the ball where they are comfortable. Has great control of the pace. Improved shooting. Decent enough, defensively. Weaknesses: Doesn't drive and kick as much as he did last year. Seems more comfortable in a half court offense, which is a problem considering how stagnant our offense is in that type of game (not his fault). While his shooting's improved, it's still not the greatest. ANTHONY PARKER:B Strengths: Very good, dependable, scorer. Solid defender. Good rebounder for a guard. Weaknesses: Good, but not always consistent with the jumper. MORRIS PETERSON: B- Strengths: Only consistent jumpshot that forces opponents to step up on him. Just as good defensively, as last season. Weaknesses: Not as willing to use the pump fake to set up a midrange shot. His shot hasn't been falling so far (not a legitimate reason to pull him out of the starting lineup, though). KRIS HUMPHRIES: C+ Strengthsost defense.Always hustling. Makes opponents work for their points down low. Been a very active rebounder so far. Can run with the guards. Weaknesses:Too much confidence in a bad jumper. Offensive game is limited to putbacks. A bit foul-prone. TJ FORD: C Strengths: Ridiculously fast. Has shown a suprisingly good midrange jumper. Can make beautiful passes. Punishes lazy defenders by taking it to the rack. Knows limitations of jumpshot (unlike last season). Weaknesses:Turnover machine. In a half court set, he's too attached to the ball. Doesn't always know where he's going when he starts to drive. No 3 pt. shot. JORGE GARBAJOSA: C Strengths:Good shooter. Very good fundamentals/positioning on defense (not his fault he's been guarding quick small forwards). Draws offensive fouls. Decent rebounder. Good passer. Weaknesses:Still doesn't have full grasp of N.A. rules. In this system, becomes useless when shot isn't falling. Mediocre speed. Seems like a loner. RASHO NESTEROVIC: C- Strengths:Best interior defender on the team. Shotblocking presence. Good rebounder. Has clearly made Bosh's job easier. An extra 6 fouls against Shaq. Weaknesses:No offensive game of which to speak. Slow. FRED JONES: C- Strengths:Can shoot the ball. Speed. Playmaking ability. Great at splitting the defense. Pesky defender. Weaknesses:Inefficient. Turnover-prone. Not consistent enough with the jumpshot. Streaky. JOEY GRAHAM: D Strengths:Hustles. 3 pt. shot getting better. Shown a little bit of handles. Weaknesses:Maddeningly inconsistent. Offensive foul waiting to happen. Is not Danny Granger. ANDREA BARGNANI: TBA Strengths: Great shot and quick release. Can put the ball on the floor. Long arms. Can run up and down. Nowhere near as raw as other players at his age who had shown as much potential. Weaknessesoesn't know how to box out. Still easy to push out of position. Foul prone. Not effective moving without the ball. PJ TUCKER: TBA Strengthsefinition of a hustle player. Rebounds well. Sets hard screens. Very coachable and has great work ethic. Weaknesses:Still not certain whether he will be able to over come his lack of height. No clear position. Not a great shooter.
Norespect: I think that is a pretty good description. I haven't seen the Raps as much as I would like. I didn't expect Bargnani to be a D+ though lol. Sounds pretty terrible, like a second round draft pick. Even Humphries got a B! Chutney's description I'll read tomorrow lol.

Calderon deserves an A+...he's been doing everything right I agree...what more could you ask for other then more minutes...which is an F on Mitchell, and not a knock on Jose.
