With the way Chris Paul played and turned around the Hornets in his rookie season, the Jazz took a lot of criticism for drafting Deron Williams ahead of him. But now, early in their second seasons, is the gap closing? Statistically, Williams has caught up this season and the Jazz currently have the best record in the NBA at 7-1.

    Paul - Williams

    PPG: 17.6-----16.9
    RPG: 3.8-----2.5
    APG: 9.7-----8.5
    SPG: 1.56---1.63
    FG: .480----.509
    FT: .791-----.857
    TO: 3--------2.63
    MPG: 36.1----36.8

I'd rather Paul, but Williams is quickly showing he was the right choice for the Jazz. I think it was a good draft either way.

I think both are great players. I also think Dwill was a great selection, fits the Jazz very well, and would not change anything. His #'s are barely lower than CP's, but then again, Dwill is on a better team with lots of great players. And we're 7-1. Thank you, next question?

    Ahhh...SHYT, this question again...

    It comes down to this...
Deron fits the Jazz system perfectly; a set up offense, a big point guard to make reads, etc...he had to earn his spot from Jerry Sloan(not many young players could of met that challenge).
Paul is more of a I'm the man kind of guy, with a run and gun offense, quicker and more athletic...(Paul was given the front seat from day 1, it's his team).

It worked out the way it did, and its great. The Jazz are 7-1, nothing to complain about...

So those who said we should've taken Paul instead of Williams, shut up...those who said Boozer was a bad pick up, jump on the bandwagon...and those who don't think Jerry Sloan is one of the greatest coaches ever...kiss my ass...
(Sorry, kind of went off and started ranting but people been ignoring the Jazz for far too long).[IMG]

I'd rather Chris Paul, a little bias maybe, but that's just me. Chris Paul has shown more of an ability to take over a game, and put a team on his back than Williams has. A perfect example of this was last year as a rookie when he brought the Hornets back against the Chicago Bulls in Chicago.

Well if Deron Williams was on Charlotte, an inferior team, then maybe he would show that ability to take over a game. Right now he's got Boozer, Okur, Kirilenko, Fisher, Harpring, you get the picture. Paul doesn't have as much help. And btw, he has shown that ability this season. Maybe not as much as Paul though. It's 2 different situations.

If Jazz had drafted Chris Paul, and the Hornets Dwill....it would be the same but vice versa. Dwill woulda got rookie of the year averaging lots of points and assists on the Hornets. Chris woulda been benched half the season because Sloan doesn't play rookies. But anyways, you're opinion is biased........ and so is mine. [IMG]
